=/\= Ready room =/\= "Congratulations General," said the Executive Officer. Andy applauded politely and stood by watching as the crew gave a collective cheer for its newly promoted CO. The room buzzed with hustle and bustle, and he half-turned, hearing the Counselor and CMO get Bretam's attention with an odd, mischievous inflection. Before he knew it, he felt something cold and gooey impact on his temple, saw the general abruptly decorated with what appeared to be criousberry pie, and heard the room erupt with laughter and more cheers. It created an unholy mess, but Bretam seemed to handle it well ... even expect it. Still, Andy hadn't quite gotten to know the ins and outs of this crew, and pulled back to the edge of the room. Hrm, he thought, wiping the mess off his head with a cloth napkin helpfully offered by a crewmate, and inspected the particles. Green, kind of slimey. It certainly looked like criousberry. He dipped his finger in it, took a small taste, and was unexpectedly met with a sour, citrusy flavor. Definately not criousberry, then. Not surprising, he guessed in hindsight. Centauri food wasn't that common in Starfleet replicator databases. Andy cleaned himself up, and mingled, getting to meet some of the other crew; something he hadn't had opportunity to do since his transfer and the subsequent dust-up with the pollen. He chatted with Maikai, who assured him that Kaine was safely ensconced in her quarters, shackled to her bed. "I really wanted to apologize about that," she said, talking about her dog. "I'm thinking of activating a recorder to the room to figure out how he's been getting out." Andy assured her it was okay, and that he thought figuring out a better way to restrain her dog would be a good idea. The two chatted a bit more, and Andy was beginning to relax when someone interrupted their conversation. "Excuse me?" The two turned to see Rangi Summers holding a drink standing before them and smiling warmly. Mai returned the smile. "Hello, Commander," she said, and glanced back at Andy. "Andy, have you met our Chief Medical officer yet?" Anderson shook his head and extended his hand. "I don't believe we've been directly introduced, doctor," he said, "though I've met most of your staff. Andersen Foster," said Andy, shaking her hand. "Mr. Foster, it's a pleasure to finally meet you," replied Rangi still smiling. "I've been looking forward to your visiting us in Sick Bay." Mai stifled a quiet giggle, and Rangi playfully scowled at her. "Shh," she said enigmatically. "Mr. Foster has nothing to fear in Sick Bay." She turned to Andy. "Don't mind her." Andy smiled with a combination of bemusement and anxiety at the reactions of the two physicians. "I'll look forward to it," he said. "I think." "Good," said Rangi. "I expect to see you in my office within the week." "Aye, Ma'am," replied Andy returning her smile. He excused himself, and chatted with a few others before making his way back to his quarters. Lt.
