Hope it's acceptable >> -=/\=- CO's Promotion Bash -=/\=- Ensign MaiKai was thinking about the other night and how she just left Stan stay in her quarters until he needed to get back to work; she was considerate enough to leave him a note at least. Now she was at the place where everyone was and had been celebrating the CO's Promotion to Brigadier General from Colonel. It was so uplifting for her when she saw "The Boss Man " creamed with this totally disgusting, gooey pie like ... thing. During her time at the party she had talked to Andersen and the whole time was chitchat, but of course she was thinking how different he looked tonight, maybe it was the gooey-ness from the pie that seemed to be on his uniform a bit. Now she was discussing with herself of what action to do next... She made eye contact with the CO and nodded as she turned out, not heading toward her room, but to the Sickbay. Mai had just been there before the Promotion, but she was too awake, odd for her, to be going off to her quarters. MaiKai knew she had to go back especially after wasting the other day for time for her ... and a guest ... to catch up on sleep. She thought more of what's been going on as she walked through the doors to Sickbay. -=/\=- Sickbay -=/\=- MaiKai walked over to the nearest biobed and sat down on it. She reviewed over some near by padds and carefully looked at who still was left lying around. Noticing some gloop on her shirt she swayed it away with a brisk movement of her hand and watched it glide off her shoulders and onto the floor. Mai was exhausted, but she didn't feel like doing her favorite pass time which was to sleep. Finally she decided on walking around from bed to bed seeing what was not observed or who has not been seen by any Sickbay members. MaiKai walked up to a man who had some managed to get this gash on his arm. She looked at the arm and figured by the outer color around the gash that it was indeed infected. Not taking notice of the man, Mai gave him some medicine and had bandaged it up. She lifted her head in order to look him in the eyes to apologize when she realized who it was. " Oh .. my .. God.. " expecting someone else, Mai astonished tried to replace her past words by saying, " I mean ... What happened and why are you here?" She inquired as she was staring in the eyes of none other then Corporal Stan Pressman. "Well, as I was beginning to leave your room the other day ... Kaine though I had eaten you or something ... and like any other loyal companion, took what he though was revenge, I guess, then leaped out at me," he said looking from MaiKai to the floor. He replaced her padd, in Mai's left hand, with his left hand of the arm that wasn't injured then set the pad aside on the tray on the right of the biobed. " I came down here because it looked like it was getting infected and because ... well, I wanted to see you again ... ," Stan's voice trailed off as the only thing MaiKai could do was look him in the face. An old lady sat up in bed and looked toward the pair. " Awww ... to be young and in love," not wanting to bother them for anything, the lady laid back down and curled back up peacefully. Mai pretended not to hear the woman, she loosened the grip she had on his hurt arm and turned to sit down next to him. " You know it's not nice to visit people when they are on duty. It could create a little distraction for her real work. But of course your excuse would be you were hurt and you couldn't handle it by yourself... " She tried to say something for she always hated those awkward silences. Even though it may not have made sense, it sure brought some reassurance to her. Stan wrapped his good arm around her, " Well, sorry for intruding, but a day without seeing your face is a long time." Here he is trying to see if his cheesy romantic ways work. MaiKai smirked and said, "Ha cute, but to lame of a saying for ya Hun." She winked then looked back at all the patients. "Let me finish a few things up here then we can go to the Mess Hall," she told him as she knew treating him was not enough work to be done or at least sufficient to her.
