-= Holodeck 3 =- He dropped from the airduct into the darkened room. According to the schematics previously aquired from a Ferengi smuggler, it was suppose to be the storage area. His nightvision goggles showed in tones of green the room contents to be mostly crates of different sizes. He could hear the deep and controlled breaths in his isolation suit. It was black and fitted to his body, to provide full range of motion, all weather protection and anti-sensor capabilities. Although if spotted visually, he would be recognised as an intruder, a spy or a saboteur, and the Cardassians would shoot on sight. So far so good, he'd found the storage room he was looking for, the deadly compound was somewhere in these crates and for now, he was just to tracks it's movement. He powered up the exographic options of his vision enhancement unit strapped to his head. He set it to arm's length and started looking inside the crates without actually opening them. A few minutes later he found the crate he was looking for. He placed a security bypass module on the keycode panel and it opened the container in a matter of seconds. He placed a miniature transponder inside the box and started to close it when the doors of the room opened. Quickly, with suprising cat-like grace he moved silently to a stack of crates, putting his back to them and waited, as the lights came on in the storage room. "Damn, I'm tired of these useless patrols." One said. He seemed Cardassian alright. "I know, nodoby could ever break in here anyway, and a sizable force could not take us." The other replied. They where two, it seemed. He heard the noise of their boots move closer to his position and the crate he was playing with was still half open. He silently cursed and forced himself to keep cool. He prepared himself, he would have half a second to act. He readied a throwing knife and waited for the first to come to view and ID him. "What the..." Where the last Cardassian's words as the knife plunged in his throat. At the same time, Gaalen charged the second one, moving his rifle end away and touching his neck with his free hand. The stun gloves delivered an electric shock that stunned his Cardassian victim instantly. As the second one fell, the third Cardassian fired and hit Gaalen straight in the chest... "ARRG!" He shouted in anger. The simulation paused, he still failed, as he had done many times before and even before that, during his Am Tal training. He angrily removed his isolating mask and threw it on the floor. He punched a crate and saluted the Cardassian, still in a firing position, the disruptors beam still floating in the air, with a one finger salute. "Computer, end program!" He ordered. Everything disappeared, replaced by the holodeck walls, he was back in his civies, as he had entered the holodeck, hours prior to his defeat. He walked out, headed for his quarters, as he mulled over the last moments of the simulation. He also thought about his time in the Andorian forces, where he had been a rifleman turned spy, but ended up a washout for the intelligence training. He was not suppose to tell anyone about that, but then again, with such failure, he would not speak to anyone anyway. He had hated himself for going through the whole process of the training with great efficiency and motivation to finally refuse to shoot his wife, in a simulation. He had won a one way ticket out of the course, in the final test. Ensign Gaalen Idrani Engineer Officer USS Chimera __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
