===== Conference longue, USS Chimera ===== Shane noticed the fresh backed Marine Captain raising his hand and asking: "Sir, Are there any tactical risks between us and Tetron III?" Shane smiled to himself: {A good question and even a better one when asked by the Chief Tactical} he thought. How often it was him to ask question like this ... He shook his head: "As far i know none. We are still deep in federations territory and there was no suspicious activity detected in this sector. I would guess that the 'trip' to Tetron III will be a quiet one." He flashed at Acheson: "But i guess that an open eye for anything unusual is always a good thing Captian, isnt it?" Having received a good answer to that question, he had to ask another. "Sir, perhaps I'm just being silly, but do these children pose a security risk? Are any of their parents known to have anti Federation sympathies. I was 17 and 18 and I remember how passionately I viewed the world." Shane shrugged slightly: "To be honest I dont know. I've seen the roster of the kids that will be beamed over, but only one or two names were know to me. All the kids have parents eighter in starfleet or in civil duty for the fleet, so i dont expect them to be anarchists of some kind. But if you could do some quiet research about those kids Captain, it could only help. Ops has the roster, get it from Mr. Anderson and you have free hand to investigate it. But Captain, "Shane paused, "please carefully. The children are citizens of the federation and their parents as well." ===== Bridge, USS Chimera, 30 Minutes later ===== Shane was glad that Athena and Rangi already started with the preparations for their 'guests'. They've got the names of the kids from Ops and already went of to arrange quarters for them. Shane knew that it was quite uncommon for an SSF ship to do 'au-pair' services for children, but on the other side, SSF officers were supposed to adapt to most of the possible situations ... and this was one situation. Afterall, the Chimera havent had many civilian or even diplomatic guests on board since comminsioning, and a 'horde' of civilians ... kids ... were just the right mean how to learn to deal with a situation like this. Who know ... maybe once their 'real' mission would be to held a conference on board ... or to evacuate an outpost ... "Sir" the always somewhat bored voice of LT. Foster sounded from behind Shane, "the USS AU-Pair just arrived. They are hailing us". "On screen" Shane replied. A large picture of the bridge of the Ambassador class ship appeared on the main screen. The bridge looked busy like o every SF ship. Officers of various uniform colour did their duty there. In front of them a tall figure of an vulcan man, clad in command red with four pips on his collar was to seen. "Commander" the vulcan said as greeting. "Captain" Shane replied and stood up from his chair. "I am thankfull that you will transport my guests to Tetron III Commander, we have some serious problems with the warp core and my CEO said that it will take a week or two to replace it. It would be quite" the vulcan paused like searching for teh right word,"sad if my guests would have to wait for that long" Shane noded: "No problem Captain. Our orders are to patrol in this sector, so we can easily take your guests with us. You can take it for sure that the guests will be safe and sound on Tetron III in the shortest possible time." The vulcan Captain noded: "Very well Commander. I'll inform the families about the change of the plan. Au pair out" and with that the viewscreen blinked ... and the familiar star view appeared there. "Sir, the Au-pair signalizes that they are ready for transport" announced Foster. Shane turned to him and said: "Send LT. Wellington and Commander Summers to Transporter room 1 and then begin with transport." "Aye, sir" camr Forster's reply. For a moment Shane wondered about the personal file of that guy. Quite some of Foster's superiors had slight problems with his attitude towards duty and stuff, but Shane havent seen anything that would confirm their words. Maybe Foster liked the way Chimera was running ... After a short time Foster announced again: "Transporter process begins, we just received the first 6 of our guests ..." ===== End of log ===== Cmdr.
