-= Starbase Kinsi - Public Observation Lounge =- Gaalen sat facing the bay windows quite alone. He was not the most uncommon of aliens that travelled through Federation space but he felt like he was an oddity. He had been sitting for a few hours after leaving the bar. He had requested quarters but had been informed that the Chimera was within hours of arriving, so his request had been denied rather arrogantly. Gaalen had drilled holes in the back of the lieutenant's head with his eyes before walking away. Humans did not always know or understood the Andorian ways. Eventually, the ship had arrived, but it remained in orbit of the station. Gaalen had been contacted and he proceeded to the docking port of the Chimera's shuttle. Some staff disembarqued and he showed his identification to the two security guards. In reply he had received a PADD with his quarters information as well as his department status, chain of command, etc. For once, the security guard's attitudes where to be expected. strict, unemotional and efficient. He liked that sometimes. He sat and waited as other sat in the passenger compartment. When everyone seemed to be on the shuttle, it returned to the ship, for yet another run. As the ship floated towards the Chimera, Gaalen observed everyone in the shuttle. to remember the faces, to get a feel of those joining the ship with him. After a few minutes of discreet analysing, he read the totality of his joining orders once more. -= USS Chimera =- The first thing he did was to get to his assigned quarters. It was quite easy to get to his location, since he had trained a few times on intrepid class ship, he knew the layout. He entered his quarters and identified to the computer, which granted him access. They felt empty, but it would soon be remedied. It was nothing like a sleeping hall like his home world but it would have to do. For now he noticed his personal belongings where not there yet, it did not matter, he always traveled with a fresh Starfleet uniform. He put it on, placing his unique ensign pip on his collar and headed straight for engineering, where he wanted to see how things where going down there, and if possible to meet with his department head, one Lt Blackburn. Making his way to the turbolift, he noticed nobody paid him more attention than an ensign would receive in normal circunstances. He was glad in a sense. In the turbolift, a security officer joined two decks below his own. "Oh, Andorian. Nice to have you on the ship." He said. "Thank you, I'm glad as well." Gaalen replied, he did not smile but his reply remained curtious, like two strangers sharing a few words. "There was another Andorian on this ship, he disembarked a few days before this misison, on our last stop to Bragg. SSG Endilev." Gaalen's eyes shot open, "Keth Endilev. A good clan." Where the only words that came to his words. "Too bad I missed him." He managed to add. The mention of Keth Endilev brought a flash memory of Ph'ell, which supressed his desire to talk with the security officer. The rest of the way they both remained silent. -= Main Engineering =- He entered his new department and walked around. Somehow everyone he saw where just about running routine inspections of the ship's systems. That was nice. He would have time to get aquainted with this new ship in a more relaxed fashion. He was greeted by a few other officers and crewmen. He then walked to the warp core and observed it for a few seconds. The heart of the ship, pulsing with life, was his responsability in a way. He looked left and right, and found the office he was seeking. He walked over and rang the door chime, hoping the CEO would be in his office. He stood waiting to be allowed inside.
