-=/\=- At the Party ... -=/\=- MaiKai was greeted by our young counselor at the entrance. She sat down at a little round table and soon ordered a small glass of some concoction. Corporal Stan "The Man" Pressman glanced over from where he stood with his own mug, probably of beer, and walked over for an approach. "Miss, your beauty is radiant this evening especially in that dress. Would you care to dance?" , Stan asked her as he grasped his good hand in her right as if to help her up. "Of course I would," Mai replied with a wink. They walked off to the dance floor hand in hand. A slow romantic song came on and MaiKai immediately put her hands around the back of Stan's neck and Stan placed his arms around her cute little waist. The pair danced silently staring into each others eyes. Mai rest her head on Stan's shoulder as the music started to allow her to relax. The song slowed down and they decided to join the crowd that was around the podium. Stan and MaiKai heard her name called out and turned in the direction in which it came. "Ensign MaiKai Quiocho, front and center," the ACO Shane Guzman ordered. {Oh God. What could I have possibly done wrong now} she thought as she left Stan's side and felt his hand move from hers slowly as she came out from the rows of people up to the podium where stood the ACO Rangi Summers and Lt. Foster. Shane stepped closer to Mai and pulled out the small blue velvet box. He opened the box and revealed a single hollow pip. Then he looked at Mai like considering where to put the pip on. Grinning at Mai he said in an official tone: "Ensign Quiocho, your duty record is full of excellent evaluations from your superior officer Commander Summers, and I think its no longer appropriate for you to wear the rank of Ensign. Therefore I promote you to the rank of Lieutenant Junior grade with all the rights and responsibilities tied to this rank." He extended his hand and added: "Congratulations Lieutenant" and handed her the box with the pip. MaiKai smiled back to him as if that was all she could do. {Oh, whew. Glad it was just a promotion. Wait ..... where's that pie ... }. All of a sudden Mai was swirled around with in a surgical whit robe by Mr. Foster over there. Rangi smiled an apologetic ..'sorry, but I have to do this!' look at the new Lieutenant and stepped back to aim. MaiKai squinted at the sight of the bright pink pie and started to back away. Rangi allowed for the distance in her aim so the pie flew the short distance through the air and splattered square on into the AMO's pretty face. MaiKai stood there for a moment thinking of what to do and how great she probably looked now. She took her pointer finger and wiped some off her one of her eyebrows. MaiKai tasted it "Mmm ... pink lemonade!" Mai grabbed a hold of the first person in front of her, it had just happened to be Rangi. She wiped some pie filling off her chin and forehead and smeared it all over Rangi's face. Then walked up to Shane before he could walk away and put some more pie filling from her neck and the rest of her face on his as well. Now, not letting Lt. Foster get away with anything, she got as much pie filling off the top part of her dress near her chest and smeared it across his lips and accidentally flicked some in his eyes.
