=/\= Begin Log =/\= Athena had been called back to the transporter room; there was a problem with one of the children. Or at least that's what she figured from the message she had received. She hoped it wasn't anything too serious. She had just come from the Captain's ready room and found out that Philip Smart's father was making a complaint against her. {Could this day get any worse?} Athena walked into the transporter room and waited. {I left out in my report how that insolent pup tried to cop a feel and now this.} She wanted to scream but stood there quietly. She gave the chief a small smile. {This is taking getting even for rejection a bit far.} The security guards were ready and waiting as the three figures transported from Tetris II solidified in front of them. Rangi pointed to Commander Birt. "Take care of him please," she said simply and holding Leia's hand stepped down from the transporter pads. "What a lot of beaming about you've done today!" she said smiling at the child. Leia nodded. "Four times...a lot." She noticed the counselor's tall figure and freed herself from Rangi's hand. "'..Lo Afeena." she exclaimed "I am back AGAIN! Four times!!" Athena gave a small sigh and said, "So, I see." She gave the little girl a small smile. "Hhmmm..., Athena said, "I guess you and I should go and rearrange my schedule and maybe you could help me perfect some magic tricks." Two security officers had moved one either side of Pete. "Take him to the Brig ma'am?" one asked Rangi. "Yes...just let him sleep it off," she replied. It took a few moments for Pete to realize they were talking about him. He looked at the two guards warily but couldn't quite seem to work out what they intended. Rangi turned to Athena, though her attention was still on Pete. "He is near enough legless." Rangi said and watched as Leia crossed to her father and reached up to him asking to be lifted. "He's in no state to care for his little girl. I tell you Athena...I was shocked to see him." She turned her head and met Athena's eyes. "There was no alternative other than to bring him aboard," she added. Athena nodded but remained quiet to see what else she could learn. She walked over to the little girl and cheerfully said, "Let's go, Leia. You can see Daddy later." The little girl was torn between wanting to go with Athena and wanting to stay with her dad. Athena could smell the alcohol but didn't even change her expression as she knelt down in front of the child. In the same bright tone she used before Athena said, "Daddy needs to go and take care of something and then I promise later that you can see him." Athena looked up at Pete and then back down to Leia and continued, "Maybe your daddy will even smile then." The little girl nodded as she took Athena's hand and they left the transporter room. As Leia disappeared from view, Pete seemed to come to his senses somewhat and made as though to go after her. He didn't get a step before the two guards held him fast and despite his protests, 'escorted' him from the transporter room. Rangi tapped her combadge. +Taps+.
