=/\= Holodeck 1 =/\= During the Crimean war in the middle of the Nineteenth century, a British brigade launched a futile charge on a Russian position, and were cut apart by Russian cannonfire. Acheson's small unit rushed forward, hard on the left flank of Walsh's red team. It was hoped that Walsh's men would be suppressed long enough to not know what hit them. Perhaps Nathan would even be able to seize their flag. He was sure that his maneuver would work, as the ODA were likely a bunch of pushovers since he left command. He wondered for a moment why he did that and why he accepted the Chief Tactical post. He found that he missed this action. The phaser fire that came onto his position was almost surreal for the first few seconds. The quantized bursts flew past him and almost seemed like a dream, with starbursts and nebular beauty. And yet the reality was all too clear. The attackers cut down Acheson's unit before they could even respond. To the left and right, he saw his men being hit and dematerialized. "Shit. ... take cover!" Acheson dove to the ground and slid in the mud, making a crater with the force of his body moving. His face landed in the middle of it, and he tried to clear the viscous liquid from his eyes. "Engage, engage!" he called out to the remaining 3 men. He took the rifle and tried to get a few shots off, but he didn't know where to aim. He fired frantically, trying to hit something. However, the red team was onto the plan and had moved slightly, to the right flank of his position. They reengaged and caught him off guard. "Son of a ..." The resulting phaser fire cut into his squad. He got up and started running back to the rear. Suddenly, he felt the world go bright and the next thing he noticed was a transporter technician. "Sir, you've been hit. You're in the time out box."
