He was the only senior officer there at the moment. Shane could imagine that the other senior crew was busy with prepareations to leave the orbit and last 'touches' to their reports for the upcomming senior crew meeting. The bridge was filled with junior crew mostly and Shane was not very pleased realising that he hardly knew those man and woman. some time in the past he was the one who greeted new crew in the transporter room upon their arrival on board and he had quite a good overview about the crew. Then he got to busy and Athena took over the greeting. From that moment his knowledge about the crew lessened a abit, but from the time General Bretam gave him temporary command over teh ship, he lost almost all the contact to the lower ranks of the crew. Aye, the direct 'commander' for each department was the actual Chief of that deparment but as the Executive officer he was used to get in touch with deparmtnts issues that needed higher authority ... but now it was Rangi who dealt with those issues. And as a woman loving her man, she protected Shane from paperwork that she could do alone and Shane's touch with little ship's business and low rank crew grew smaller and smaller. Shane went over to the helm console and said to teh helmsmann sitting there. "Ensign" set the "prepare to leave the orbit and then set the course to Deep Space 6. Warp 6". "Understood Commander" replied the ensign. He tapped his console and slowly, the ship started to move. Shane watched the Tetris II planet to dissapear from the main screen as the ship turned away from the planet. Shane had to think about the informations Lieutenant Idrani told him about the warp core problem. {Sabotage!} he thought still with some anger upon the supid teenager of Smart that was responsible for that. There was only one small positive thing in this issue ... after informing Governor Smart about the 'deeds' of his son, he was more then willing to promise not to send a complaint against Athena or Shane to SF Command. Well, considering of having his son court martialed ... it wasnt a bad bargain. "We have left the orbit Sir" The helmsman informed, "setting course for Deep space 6" Shane smiled at the sight of the blackness of the deep space now in front of the ship. That was a sight every ship's Captain loved. "Engage!" Shane commanded and after three secodns the ship entered warp speed. ===== Conference longue, 30 Minutes later ===== Shane was sitting in the chair in the head of the table and watched the senior crew coming to their conference. One after one, till all were present. Only two seats were empty. One was the seat of the chief Operations officer ... but the Chimera had none at the moment. Shane worried a bit about the fact that none of the officers in that department showed qualities or willingness to take over teh responsibility. {But one cant have everything i guess ...} he thought to himself. Finnaly, after some small talk the senior crew had among themselves, all were seated and waited for Shane to begin. Suddenly the door hissed and opened and a tall man dressed in the black uniform of an federational diplomat entered the room. "You are late Martin" Shane said instead of an greeting. Yes, the man entering the room was Shane's own brother Martin. The man who was in love with teh ship's CSCiO and who was under house arrent for almost a week, till the winter ball happening. Clearly many of the present officers wondere by what turn of the fortune the ACO's brother was now present to their meeting and what role he will play, but Shane didnt reveal it for teh moment. "I apologize Commander" Martin replied, adressing his brother with his rank. He knew that his position wasnt too stable there, so he avoided any thing that might have his brother to arrest him again. "I've got a bit lost on the way to the bridge, its the first time I am here". Shane noded and motioned Martin to take the last free chair and then he spoke up: "Thank everyone for comming. As you allready know, we have left the orbit of tetris II 30 minutes ago and head now to Deep space 6 station. Ill brief you about our mission shortly, but before that I would like to hear a short status report from all the departments."
