OOC: Hi, folks. This is backlog about the check-up, which made Rangi in connection with the ongoing effect of pollen.
*** Mess hall * USS Chimera ***
Oriana was with Martin in mess hall, when she got the call from sickbay. She looked at Martin, who smiled. "The doctor is anxious about us, isn`t she? I hope, she will not say, you are not allright, because of our love."
Oriana shook her head: "No. Not doctor Summers. Come, my love, we both must go."
*** Sickbay * USS Chimera ***
Rangi was leaning against a work station, reading down the list of the crew who had been recalled to sickbay and was pleased to see that only six, including herself, had any ongoing effect from the pollen. She had only just read Ens Orianas name, when Nurse Fleming appeared beside her.
"Rangi?..Ens Oriana has arrived...do you want to see her or shall I get one of the AMOs?"
Rangi straightend up. "No..I'll see her myself.Where have you put her?" she asked.
She's waiting on Biobed five" Lucy replied. Rangi thanked her and began to walk in the direction Lucy had indicated, seeing at once the figure sitting on the edge of the biobed, watching the display adjusting to Vulcan physiology.
When they came in, nurse Fleming was first, who noted them. She pointed Oriana on one biobed and she lead away Martin to other. She asked to wait them and she went to the CMO`s office. Oriana looked at Martin. He smiled at her. She looked at the display over her biobed again and waited for doctor Summers.
"Ensign Oriana.." Rangi smiled as the Chief Science Officer turned her head. "Thankyou for coming...this wont take long." Taking a medpadd and setting it to search for Orianas history, Rangi explained the reason for recalling some of the crew, telling Oriana what Proffesor Griffin had said. "Tell me then.." she asked.." Have you noticed any ongoing effects yourself?....anything at all?"
Oriana heard doctor without one word. She looked around the sickbay after the people. {Ongoing effects?} she thought: "I noted not anything. Can you be more precise? What for effects?"
Rangi paused before answering. "Well.." she replied and leaned against the biobed next to Oriana."Some people have continued to see or hear things...the effects havent grown less as we would expect. In some cases, the effects people experienced were emotional ones...as in your case?"
Oriana looked at doctor a bit suprrised. {She is thinking at Martin really.} She thought about the answer: "Well, I know, I acted not ... logical. It isn`t anything, what the Vulcans disclose gladly. But I assure you, I have my emotions fully under control again."
Rangi nodded slowly."I'm sure you do." she replied as her attention was caught by a figure two beds away from where they were. At first glimpse she had thought the tall man to be Shane but realized quickly that it was in fact his brother Martin. She looked at Oriana again and said: " I see Mr Guzman is here too...did you arrive together?"
Oriana looked at the same direction as doctor it did. But when she heard doctor`s question, she looked back quickly: "Yes, we did," she answered truthfully. "Where do you hint with this question?"
Rangi smiled."I just wondered...you and Martin seem to get on very well together...and before receiving treatment for the pollen, you were both very affectionate towards each other. Ensign...may I ask how you feel about him now?"
Oriana didn`t know, what to say. She knew, the doctor had valid care of her. She looked back at the doctor, who looked at Oriana still and waited for the answer. "Doctor, the Vulcans yield precedence to their minds and logic. But we have the feelings as well. Even if it is not easy to explain our feeling of love. The word love isn`t the best name for that, what I feel to Martin, but in federation standard language there isn`t another word for this feeling" She looked at Martin and back to doctor: "Do you understand it?"
A smile touched the corners of Rangis lips as the ensign looked back at her."Yes I do...and, though I cant explain why exactly...I think what you describe is real...and not caused by the pollen. Are you surprised I think so?" she asked seeing Orianas eyebrow rise slightly.
"No, doctor, I am not surprised." Actually she was muddled... she had expected the opposite answer at least. "I am all right really doctor," she added.
Rangi thought Oriana looked as worried as it was possible for a Vulcan 'to' look. She smiled. "I know you are." she said quietly. " I'll tell you something...when I first met Martins brother...I felt something here." Rangi laid a hand on her chest."I cant explain it...but it was as if I had always known him...as if we were meant be together....and I'd never set eyes on him before!" Her smile widened."Don't worry." she added " I do understand....and I'm sure its Martin and not the pollen that is making you feel this way."
Oriana heard the doctor`s words. The doctor was younger and she was human. But her description was ... adequate. A flashback appeared in her mind. A thought on another man. "Doctor, I saw a .. man in one of my halucinations. It is 50 years ago and I told it to noone. His name was Sitok. He was Vulcan and I wanted to bond with him. But he died."
I'm sorry to hear that...she said, her smile replaced with a look of concern."You mean...you have felt this way before?...But...the feeling you have now...its a intense as that?" {Am I wrong?} Rangi wondered.
"It is long ago, doctor and this bereavement does not affect my present relationship. I can say only, it is another as with Sitok, because Martin isn`t Vulcan, but intense isn`t the right word to describe Vulcan feelings," Oriana looked at the doctor a bit amused.{She is young. And she is human.} she thought.
{Then I was correct...she's in love with Martin no matter what word is used.} "Then I'm glad you've found someone else." Rangi said, as a fleeting thought of Shanes attitude to his brother appeared in the back of her mind. "I wish you well" she added.
"Is it your medical attitude? Can I go then?" she asked not a little surprised of the doctors words.
Rangi couldnt help but laugh. "Yes...thats my medical opinion...I am happy to say I think that you are 'not' suffering from pollen...only from..." she did not complete her words but looked towards Martin who was watching them with interest.
Oriana nodded only. She followed doctor`s humour, but only in her green eyes was to see any amusement. "All right. I will wait here for the completing of Martin`s check-up." She looked after doctor, who went away to the other patients.
