= /\ Starbase Kinsi /\ ===== "What a dump" Jack mussed to himself as he rubbed his neck and looked around at the options for his pleasure until his new assignment sailed in to dock and take him away from the inactive duty roster. Starbase Kinsi really didn't offer anyone anything, first of all there were two bars, Jack didn't like to drink much whilst on assignment but presently he was pending assignment and thus he was looking for a suitable amount of places to hang his coat as it were, given his history with being thrown out of bars. He figured that if he wasn't careful and got thrown out of one bar, just through reputation he'd be banned from the second bar, which really didn't suit Walsh down to the ground. There were a few restaurants, but really all Jack ate was whatever was available and minimal in fuss, plus his time during basic training in the Quantico system had made Jack appreciate any food at all, no matter what it was. And also the kind of people you get at restaurants are usually not the kind of people he would normally associate himself with, frankly...they were too good. Taking a walk over to a set of seats he caught a glimpse of himself in the glass window of a flower shop, which actually had some of the worst looking flowers ever seen, and he'd seen a lot of flowers, surprisingly. It was however the green collar and the now slightly weathered looking face that gazed back at him which grabbed his attention. After the Archer he'd found his way back to the marine corps and been given the option to complete the training he'd started many years ago, it wasn't exactly standard procedure but he had got James to give him a letter of recommendation which actually didn't carry that much sway but Finn knew people and they had a bit. The Marine Corps weren't exactly the career path that Jack would have chosen a long time ago, but he'd been many things, Engineer, Security Officer, Deadbeat, he thought perhaps the Corps would provide him with some stability and structure to his life, and...you get some really cool guns as he'd found during training. Not to mention the spiffy green collar he was now sporting. "That mirror ain't gonna talk Snow White, so unless you're gonna buy some flowers beat it you schmuck!" came the voice of interruption in the form of a small fat and rather disgruntled looking man. "These?" Jack picked up a huge red flower and scrunched it in his hand as he looked the man in the eye. "I wouldn't send these to my worst enemy's funeral" he dropped it to the floor and walked off with the familiar furrowing brow that he sometimes got when he knew he was being a total piece of work, but thus was the complexities of his character. He was still unaware of his next assignment, he just knew that it was onboard the USS Chimera under one Colonel Bretam Keylor, a Special Forces ship no less, something which bemused Jack to no ends in fact. He hoped that that letter of recommendation hadn't found its way onto the wrong desk and this was the reasoning for him being posted here, probably it was, he just hoped his new posting wouldn't be anything too, well challenging. If it was anything Security of Engineering related there wasn't going to be a problem. The problem was he didn't know when the Chimera was arriving at this dump and therein lay his problem with this godforsaken situation, this station was crap and who knew how long he was going to have to entertain himself with their 'facilities'. "I need a woman" he muttered under his breath adamantly. === MCapt. Jack Walsh ODA Commander (Well soon to be) USS Chimera DBID: 3201
