MaiKai had just got done on the holodeck surfing on a most beautiful
scene and was heading toward a lift to her Quarters. She was about twenty-five
strides from the holodeck door when she felt a jolt upon the ship that
knocked her to the ground. Mai stood up with little difficulties, but holding her
head with one hand, she got into the lift. She wanted to get to Sickbay to see
what was going on before another jolt left her stuck in the lift. Ding went
the sound of the lift doors opening and she headed down a corridor that would
bring MaiKai straight to Sickbay.

Mai walked fast through the Sickbay double doors and turned around to
find someone of Sickbay. She stopped the circle she was making trying to look
for someone and found Steve Desoto working in Sickbay's lab. "Hey! What's
going on?", she asked while walking through the lab doorway. Steve gave her a
slight sigh with an 'I-don't-know' face and turned back around to his work.
Mai thought a moment with her thumb and pointer finger rested on her chin.
Steve and MaiKai both turned around as they noticed the red alert for the ship.
+TAPS+ Consul Guzman to sickbay. There is a medical emergency on deck 6,
section 9 . A woman is badly burned here. I'm giving her first aid.
{Uh ... Great something else gone wrong. Wait ... Guzman? Must be a
relative of Shane Guzman's} Mai thought but kept it to herself as she came
back around to answer the person.
+TAPS+ Sickbay here. We are on the way.
{On the way ... If something's wrong with the ship I could be
in danger of hurting that person more trying to get to them ... and maybe even
myself} Mai thought on this awhile and decided just to get that woman
materialized if all possible.
+TAPS+ LtJg. MaiKai Quiocho of Sickbay to Engineering. I need a woman on
deck 6, section 9 transported to Sickbay as soon as possible.
+TAPS+ Yes, we'll have her there and just a minute.
Relieved that good news was received that the woman could be
transported Mai walked over to a biobed. Five seconds later, there was a glow just
above the bed and the lady was dematerializing into Sickbay. "What's your name
ma'am?", MaiKai asked wonder if the woman was feeling well enough to at least
tell her that. "Uh ... Sheryl ... err ... Sheryl Matticks," came a weak voice
from the woman. " Ok, Sheryl. Here's what I'm going to do: I'm going to
apply this Dermaline Gel to your burns and it should stop the pain or the tingling
sensation and when you get to feel better I can treat you again to make the
scars or burn marks, that you may have, come close to disappearing."
With a somewhat smile from Sheryl, Mai turned away for a split-second
to get the Gel that would help her burns. MaiKai came back and let the
gel-like substance lay over Sheryl's burns once applied. Matticks gave a sigh of
relief and laid down to relax. Mai patted her arm and walked away with a smile
that everything was OK until another jolt sent her smashing to the floor. Mai
picked herself up off the floor again as she thought {this is worse then
riding a class ten wave.} The young AMO looked up at the bioscan above the bed and
gave her patient another visual check.
{Those burns are worse than I originally thought.} Mai smiled
reassuringly at Sheryl and picked up a hypo and inserted a cortisone vial. She
pressed the hypo to Sheryl's neck and then she reloaded the hypo with a pain killer
and administered it as well. The next rocking motion sent Mai to the floor
yet again; only this time she felt as though she were scraping herself up when
she stood.
{OK, scans show she is stabilized; now, to get a closer look at those
burns.} MaiKai looked at her right arm which at the top where the bicep was
burned then she double checked on the burn that was on the right side of her
body located about bottom of rib to the pelvic. {Great that's down now ... } in
mid-thought a disembodied voice came over the ship saying: Evacuation on Deck
5. Please proceed immediately to your designated area. Upon hearing the
message, MaiKai thought it best to get a medkit and her patient to safety. {Geez
... not them ... } Mai sighed in an annoyance to seeing the marines come
through the Sickbay doors. She rechecked the stability of her patient to make sure
it was OK to move her. Mai traveled with Sheryl and the marines to the
Evacuation Site.
