=/\= Bridge, USS Chimera =/\= After having completed 2 simulations, Klinde hailed the Nightshade. "+COM+ Let's have one more fight head on and we'll call it a day." +COM+ "Understood. Sure you don't want to surrender yet?" The communication ended with a laugh. The Simpson approached the Chimera and fired quickly, with a volley of torpedos and phasers. Acheson gripped his console. "Shields holding .... this is weird. They aren't targeting any vital systems. Returning fire." He fired, sending a burst of simulated phaser and torpedo shots. The weapons were partially accurate, but several missed. "Ops, why isn't my targeting system working?" The Ops officer checked his console. "Sir, that first shot knocked the lateral sensors out of alignment. Realigning." The ship rocked again just as Acheson fired his weapons, scoring several decent hits. "Shields at 92%. No damage." The Simpson turned back from the last attack and went straight forward, towards the Chimera. Acheson fired again, striking the Simpson shields. The shots were direct and the sensors recorded simulated damage to the Simpson. However, the ship kept getting closer. The helmsman called out. "Sir, they're about to ram us." "Hold our position!" Acheson fired again. Despite the damage, the Simpson continued on the course. Moments before the proximity alarms would sound, the Simpson veered from the course and fired phasers. The blasts rocked the ship and sent simulated smoke shooting from a console, enveloping the bridge in a white fog. He checked his console. "I can't get a weapons lock ... what the hell happened." "Direct hit to the lateral sensors. They are offline. I'll try to adjust the resolution on the long range sensors." Acheson saw, from the viewscreen, a burst strike his ship. He looked down to his console: "They hit our ship with a tachyon burst .... why?" He looked at the shields and weapons. "Shields are out of phase. Rephasing!" Suddenly, intruder alerts sounded on the bridge. +TAPS+ ODA to Deck 4, Section A. We have intruders." Acheson sighed in disbelief. How did they get aboard? He thought quickly. .... {{Tachyons disrupt the graviton generators in the shield grid ... when I rephased the shields it must have allowed the transports on the Simpson to be activated... Clever bastard}} Oddly, the Simpson stopped firing.
