*** Temporary Sickbay * USS Chimera *** "Are you alright?" Rangi snapped back to reality from the depths of thought that had claimed her a minute or so before, to see Scotts face looking at her with an inquiring expression. His mouth curved in a smile when she focused on him and she responded in like manner. "Yes ofcourse...just thinking about..things" she said vaguely and glanced down at the padd she held in her hand. "Have you got a moment?" she asked looking back at him. "Sure...whats up?" he replied and moving to stand beside her,leaned on the edge of a supplies crate as she was doing. Rangi offered the padd for him to see. "Trying to work out downtime for us all." she said as he accepted the padd and aimed his concentration at it. "Though with a full sickbay and a dozen or more walking wounded,its not that simple." Scott handed the padd back. "What happened up there exactly?" he asked, having heard at least six different versions of events. Rangi shrugged. "I dont know." she said." A Romulan Warbird decloaked right in front of us.It fired without warning or reason and kept on doing so.Our return fire damaged it and it disappeared." "Disappeared?" he queried. "Absolutely...vanished..disappeared without trace..well almost...there were a few bits of debris. But it wasnt destroyed...it simply 'ceased to be'." This followed.. fairly closely.. the tales that he had heard. "Thats amazing." he said, trying, as were most of the crew, to think of a possible explanation. "Indeed..." Rangi said quietly "..lets just hope it doesnt decide to reappear!" Scotts serious expression, softened slightly. "Are you sure you're ok?" he asked again "You dont look it" Rangi laughed. "Well thankyou very much!" she said grinning at him. "You certainly know how to make someone think they look really well doctor!" He grinned back. "Seriously though" he said, still smiling, "You look pale and.." Rangi blinked . "..And?" "Tired and worn out and frazzled and I think I've remembered something I need to do!" He turned away,walked two steps, looked back and smiled wickedly, knowing she understood that he tried to lighten the mood but telling her just the same, that she needed downtime too. Rangi dismissed him with a wave of her hand, understanding what he attempted and thinking that he was exactly what was needed in her team.She watched him begin to walk away then called his name. "Scott?" He turned back at once waiting for an order. "Give it half an hour and then you're out ok? Take a couple of hours...get some sleep" He nodded in understanding and moved on. Rangi walked over to the computer terminal, found it still wasnt functioning as it should, turned away and ran her eyes across the temporary sickbay as she did so. {Fourteen seriously injured...two of them cause for concern...one department head out of action..one nurse injured...a dozen and more walking wounded....and that includes Shane...and we have a temporary sickbay...not good...not good at all} She nibbled her lower lip, thinking back to what Shane had said. {He was going to see Oriana...then he wanted to talk to Idrani and he mentioned the ODA office..I wonder how far he's got...and I bet he'll make light of his arm and say he's ok even if its not!..mmmm....} +Taps+ Summers to Commander Guzman.
