Gary lay on the floor of the jeffries tube starring in to space. His legs pinned by a piece of debris and unable to move himself form beneath the wreckage, he simply waited for some one to venture by so he could call for help. After assisting with the evacuation of deck 5 and making sure all oda members were accounted for, Gary had made one last sweep of the deck to make sure all crew had been escorted to safety. He narrowly escaped deck 5 by jump in to a jeffries tube just as structural integrity failed and the air had started to vent in to space on that deck. Gary thought he had narrowly escaped harm as he rabbited his way through the warren of jeffries tubs when he heard a large explosion and the air began to rush past him. He was nearly swept away, loosing his comm badge until the emergency force fields engaged and plugged the gaping hole in the hull. Helpless and unable to call for help, he simply laid there watching the stars. He even caught a glimpse at a romulan war bird. He had never seen one, in person, only pictures from federation databases. But this one, some how looked odd. He could not put his finger on it, but it just did not look like he remembered. Passing the thought off as a bad memory, he sat patiently and wait for help. After a while had passed, and Gary's patience wearing thin, he finally heard voices approaching from behind. "Over here! For the log of GOD over here! I am pinned down." He yelled hoping to attract some ones attention. A minute passed and he finally heard a reply, A female voice. "Petty officer?" was the sound form Private Mondana. Gary was unfamiliar with the voice he was not sure who it even was, but that did not matter. He just wanted to be freed form the metal that pinned him down. "Who is there?" he asked. "Private Mondana Petty officer." Cam the reply. Gary thought for a moment and recalled one of the new transfers that arrived on the ship shortly before the headed off for their mission. Gary could hear her speaking in a muffled voice and another muffled voice, a mans voice came in reply. "Well Mondana, you and who ever is back there, cut me free. I think I am loosing feeling in my feet." He barked back to her. "Ok Petty officer, give me a minute or two and I will get you out of there." ==Later== Gary worked his way down the jeffries tube. Mondana and the other person had freed him and with luck, he was only bruised and scrapped. Now they headed back t the security office to find out what to do next. "So Private, what is the latest on the ship? What have you heard? I take it the romulan ship has been destroyed." Gary listened to her reply. He thought it odd that the rumor was that the chimera had not destroyed the romulan ship, and in fact the ship had disappeared, leaving the Chimera adrift. After all if a romulan ship attacks a federation ship, without provocation, that would be a prelude to a interstellar war, breaking the tenuous brokered peace between the Romulans and the Federation since the last great conflict. Gary continued down the tube taking each step carefully. Though the blood flow had returned to his feet, there still remained that slight tingling sensation than made you feel like walking on pins and needles. "SO what is the oda up to now? Have you checked in with Mcknight or the old man?" Gary strained to hear her response and they neared deck 9. Gary filed her response in his mind. With a clatter the three of them emerged on to deck nine and promptly headed to the security office. As they entered the room, Gary noticed a small congregation and Walsh talking. Walsh looked bad. Though he acted tough, he seemed to not be in full form. He seemed to slump a bit with his shoulders slightly cocked forward. {I thought he was in sick bay. What the hell is he doing here? Last thing we need is for the old man to pass out a keel over on us.} he thought. Gary listened as Walsh ordered people to arm and guard the sensitive areas. Now that the basic rescue and recovery was done, the oda could focus on security. The ship was battered and most likely vulnerable and they were rip for the pickings. Though Gary still wondered why the romulan warbird had not finished them off. As Walsh concluded and the group broke up. Gary remained standing near the door. He watched Walsh as he withdrew to his office, noticeably tired. {I admire the dedication by he looks like he could still use medical attention. After all he could still command the oda form a bed.} Gary thought as the room now remain empty. Deciding that Walsh was not is a state to be left alone, he slowly walked over to his office. "Who is it!" came the grumble reply. "Petty officer Williams, Sir" Gary replied. The doors slid open and Gary walked in. === End Log=== PO! Gary Williams ODA Operations Specialist
