===== Physical laboratory, deck 2 ===== Oriana ended the report for ACO. It passed 10 from Guzman`s 12 hours limit, when Commander`s voice sounded. "Counselor Wellington and consul Guzman, please report to the bridge in 40 Minutes." She raised her head and looked at Martin. He smiled at her: "I think, we will be near the Kzenti homeworld in a while. I must go to prepare me, see you, love." He kissed her and went away. Oriana subscribed the report and sended it to the bridge. Then she leaved the laboratory too. ===== Astrometrics ===== Oriana entered the astrometrics again. It passed several hours after the explosion only. As she knew, there were several engineers in the astrometrics. There were others places more important to repare, so she was glad, the engineering sent someone to her department too. She stood to stand behind the door and looked around. The room looked better, as she hopped. The engineers worked quickly. Damaged panels on walls were changed, several of them worked even. The console in the centre of the room absented only and the main screen was black. On the place, where exploded the plasma conduit, was the big hole still and everywhere lay about the unidentifiable pieces of device. Oriana moved through the room and looked for the Engineer in charge of the repairs. Suddenly she heard a scream, followed by hiss and crackle and the whole astrometrics stood without energy. Oriana heard several curses and she moved thitherwards. A rather dirty yellow collared tall man creeped out from the Jeffries tube. "Do you need help?" asked Oriana. Cadet Argus was the unlucky one that was send to Astrometrics for repairs. Everyone knew that Astrometrics was full of unusually sensible and delicate equipment the Science department was using for their sports and everyone knew that trying to repair those eq would be a jail's man work. Argus was not dissapointed when he first entered the Astrometrics. It was virtually in ruin. Almost nothing was in tact and even the energy network was melted. Even Cinderella would think twice before starting to work in this room. After a while (three hours which seemed like eternity for Argus) he and his litle team managed to give the room at least a very rough shape. He was just lying on his back in an jeffries tube trying to get that dammed main EPS relay working when a small stram of sparks from some secondary malfunctioning system relay bursted and startled him. He screamd, slammed his head on the EPS relay elektronics and the result was a sore head and the Astrometrics without power. He slipped from the tube and looked a bit surprised into teh emotionsless face of the Chief Science officer. "Erm ... no ma'am ... yes ma'am" he managed to say. Oriana nodded and took out the tricorder. She knelt beside the Jeffries tube, whilst Argus creeped into the tube and began to work again. Oriana looked at tricorder and navigate the engineer with short sentences. The lights and consoles turned on and off, but then stood darkness again. It seemed that this blue collared vulan woman knew what she was talking about. Argus was an engineer, but he knew of course not the whole ship's schematics by memory. But this woman yes, at least that of the Astrometrics. With her help Argus finnaly managed to find teh right place to use his 'magic' and repair the conduits. When the energy went on for a moment, Argus's lips formed a broad smile, but when it went off again he rolled his eyes and sighed loudly. And he was soooo tired! Oriana putted the tricorder and stood to one of panel on the wall. She turned it on, displayed the power distribution and began to study it. She changed several times over the view, then she tapped several buttons: "Try it now." With littel faith Argus repeated his last action again. Not expecting any miracles he waited a second and the power went on again. The lights and panels began to light finally. The power was back. But before someone could to rejoice, the lights turned out again. "What to hell ..." sounded someone from corner, but the voice died down, becuse red allert lights began to twinkle. "Not again," fetched sigh other voice. Oriana turned to the panel again and joined to the bridge. In the next while she looked at the romulan warbird. In the side of the screen ran sensor informations. {A lot of damages, charged wapons, distance from Chimera 30 000 km, weapon residual signatures ...} Oriana was surprised: "Federation." She turned to the Argus who finnaly crawled out of the tube: "I need the astrometrics. Can you work more quickly?" Argus almost said something 'sweet' to Orina but luckily he realised that he was talking to a senior officer. A word from her to Guzman or Summers and he would repair broken toilets for the next 2 years. "Yes ma'am, I try my best ma'am" he said with a low voice. ===== End of log ===== ALtJg.
