=/\= Bridge =/\= Lieuteant Kirkland stood over a science terminal in the middle of the bridge, right behind the Captain's chair. He took a quick scan of the beamout coordinates and stopped after a sensible number of sweeps. He looked at the data and frowned, in disappointment. "This isn't very good." He shook his head. This was the best he could do. Any more power, and it'd be perceived as an agressive scan. He collected the telemetry onto a PADD and left the bridge. Something about the bridge was discouraging to the young Engineer. Perhaps it was all the people talking. Perhaps it was the lack of interface between the user and the machines. Or maybe it was simply the fact that the bridge did not have the beautiful glow of a warp core. He entered the turbolift rather quickly. "Holodeck 1" The Holodeck doors were larger than most doors and almost imposing, if they weren't normally associated with pleasure. He programmed the data of the transporter site into the computer program. "Computer, run transporter simulation alpha" The Holodeck turned into Transporter room 1 and Mathew took the controls. Suddenly, a call came in: +COM+ Guzman to Chimera, emergency beamout!" He quickly energized, beaming a holodeck version of Commander Guzman and his team into the holodeck. The figures were motionless upon rematerialization, for fear of being another engineer that created holodeck version of real people for the purpose of fantasy. "Computer reset simulation. Simulate Romulan disruptor fire." +COM+ Guzman to Chimera, we're under fire. beam us up! He quickly did as the pseudo commander indicated and energized the simulated transporter. He prepared to reintegrate the matter stream, when things stopped working. The console behind him sparked and he checked his display. "What the hell? I'm losing containment." He turned around and performed an emergency power transfer and turned back. "Here we go." He smiled and looked ahead, expecting to see the away team. Instead, a large pool of organic material rematerialized in the middle of the transporter padd. It quickly began to spread until it'd enveloped the pad and began to drip onto the carpetting in the room. "Huh" Kirkland grunted, rather confused. He scanned it with his tricorder. "The mass is the same ... Oh dear." =/\= END LOG =/\= LtJG Mathew Kirkland aDCEO USS Chimera He quickly entered the coordinates into the crew -- ___________________________________________________________ Sign-up for Ads Free at Mail.com http://promo.mail.com/adsfreejump.htm
