****** Shuttle Bay ****** With firm steps, Lieutenant McKnight made his way across the Shuttle Bay. The largest single space that was on the ship, and it looked magnificent; the tall ceiling and metallic walls and one shuttle waiting quietly for departure. For all this, Michael had no attention, his face looked grim as he walked. Commander Guzman and his team where on the planet, having just beamed over, and Michael had more things to do then sit around and wonder what was happening. His unit were due to arrive in ten minutes, unit then Michael was going to make last minute checks to his kit. Michael placed a large bag on the floor of the deck next to the Shuttle and kneeling on one knee opened it up. Michael started putting the entire contents of the bag on the deck, there seemed to be enough weaponry for two marines. Michael started getting ready, putting on the basics first. A SMFC Vibro Combat Knife that glistened beautifully in the lighting of the room when in his belt at the back, concealed from view but in reach of his hand if needed, another much larger when in a belt that would be put on over the armour. The larger knife was much too large to use with any skill, a good 45cm’s long, but the intimidation factor was great on anybody that saw it. It was strange how in a universe of such advanced weaponry blades often scared the hell out of people. Michael picked up the two MK1 phasers, the small weapons fitted easily into almost any pocket and although small and not very powerful it was always nice to have one to hand or in Michaels case, two to hand. Michael the power cells when put them in their places. With one in his left boot and the other in his belt, Michael moved on to the MK2, the standard handheld phaser. It was placed on the left side of the belt, even though Michael was right handed he found it easier to reach across his body than reaching straight down his right side for the weapon. Michael then put on the body armour over his chest. Many hated it because it was a heavy piece of crap but with the power to stop most impacts and lessen the blow of others it was a worthy trade off. The belt with the large knife when straight over that and Michael turned his attention to his main weapon, the Phaser rifle Mk3b, a light compact version of the standard rifle Michael rapped the belt in was attached to round his arm so that in a flick of his arm the weapon would be in his hand. After placing a few grenades in his person there was only thing left, a disposable Micro Torpedo launcher which when nicely over his shoulder. Michael then had to make sure he could move, there was on point in have all this weaponry and not being able to move because it was too heavy. Michael was fine, although it seemed like a lot the way marines are trained to put all the equipment on ensures that nothing gets tangled up or hinders movement. It also meant a damaged piece of kit could be moved within a second in a combat situation, which was vital to ensure survival. Soon after Michael had finished he herd the footsteps of the ODA unit, Michael turned around to see them walking in the shuttle bay fully ‘suited and booted’ with Gary Williams leading the way. ****** End Log ****** _________________________________________________________________ Want to block unwanted pop-ups?
