*** Bridge * USS Chimera *** Rangi shook her head and her smile died away. Although she found it in some ways amusing that so many men would do their utmost to avoid sickbay, she knew that in Jack Walshs case he thought he had valid reason and she could understand it. { He's the ODA commander...what else could you expect?} she asked herself. {.. he would want, even 'need', to be in charge there. But the fact remains...he isnt fully recovered...anyone can see it with one look at the man.} She gave a small sigh and looked up at the main viewer. {The Berylite scan will determine how much damage he's done to himself by taking things into his own hands..} she thought, absently looking at the Romulan ship {..that is...if he goes straight there..} She had to admit to herself that there was a likelihood that Capt Walsh would delay his return to sickbay. Turning her thoughts away from Walsh and what he may or may not do, Rangi opened a channel to speak to the CEO. Lt Kirkland answered immediately. She asked him to study the scans the ODA commander had of the Kzenti and told him of Walshs idea, adding that she wanted him to check into it and keep her informed. As Kirkland acknowledged the order, Rangi became aware of a conversation Lt Foster was having. It appeared he was talking to Shane and that something was wrong. +TAPS+ Negative Commander. There is no trace of the counselor on the surface....... Rangi stood up and walked quickly to stand beside Foster, listening to the exchange as it continued. ........But the sensors are still not at full efficiency and something seems to blur our readings from the planet. Maybe some metal ore in the planets crust or some device, I cant tell. Nor have I you and the Consul on the sensors. If it would not be for your combadge sir, I couldnt tell where you are. +TAPS+ What about LT. Wellington's combadge? Shane asked. Foster glanced up at Rangi and replied: +TAPS+ I cant find it. There is no trace of it. Shane asked about the emergency transporter beacons Walsh had given them. Foster tapped instructions into the consol and Rangi moved to her right, the better to see the results. It took just a few seconds, then her eyes widened in amazement. Foster, pausing for a split second,hurredly tapped in more instructions then replied in a voice that showed he was as surprised as she. +TAPS+ I've located the counselor's beacon ... its ... on the Romulan ship! +TAPS+ What? On the Romulan ship? Are you sure Lieutenant? +TAPS+ Absolutely sure sir, I double checked it. +TAPS+ Beam the counselor directly to the sickbay Lieutenant. Me and Martin the same. +TAPS+ Understood. Foster swivelled round in his chair as Rangi stepped away. "That's where I'll be too." she told him. He nodded " Yes ma'am" Rangi hurried toward the door. She had travelled two decks down when Foster contacted her. +Taps+ Ma'am.....Commander Guzman and Ambassador.....Guzman...have transported to sickbay....and so has a Romulan. {Romulan?} +Taps+ A Romulan lieutenant?...what about the counselor? +Taps+.No ma'am....Just one Romulan. +Taps+ I see...thankyou lieutenant The turbo lift came to a smooth halt, the doors slid open and Rangi stepped out onto deck 5, turning quickly to her left and heading toward sickbay at a fast walk.
