=/\= Holodeck 1 =/\= Mathew mumbled as he hovered over the transporter controls on the holodeck. "Ok, 300 Joules of tachyon interference." He rematerialized the away team with the transporter and looked above. He noticed Shane Guzman, shorter and wearing a turquoise uniform with the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Rangi Summers was in a red uniform, with commander pips on her collar. Curiously, Rangi seemed to be lacking something about the chest area and Shane seemed to posess something new around the chest. He shook his head and chuckled. "I don't think I'll put this one in the report." He sighed as he returned to the controls. The time seemed to last forever and the task seemed rather silly. He came to the realization that he'd never be able to predict transporter issues and that he should count on the Chief, to be able to improvise. Luckily, something came along to remove him from the duty. He heard the voice of Commander Summers calling him. He tapped his combadge and looked about. "Kirkland here!" She briefed him on Capt. Walsh's scans and told him to inform her of his progress. He responded quickly, with a half-hearted "Aye, sir." He walked from the holodeck into a nearby turbolift. "Engineering" He entered main engineering and took a quick moment to look at the diagnostics being performed on the ship, before he went to the matter at hand. He tapped his combadge: "Kirkland to Lieuteant Foster, please report to Engineering." After closing the channel, he looked over to Ensign Alshain. "Ensign, will you come with me please?" He walked to one of the computer control stations and brought up the schematics, just as Lieutenant Foster arrived. He called Foster over to him. "Hi, how are you? I'm Matt Kirkland, the acting Deputy Chief Engineer." Finishing the brief introduction, he got to the matter at hand. "This device was scanned by Captain Walsh. It apparently enhances the physiology of the Kzenti, giving them greater speed, strength, and responce time. We should study this. Lieutenant, I want you to work on creating a field or pulse that can block this signal. Ensign Alshain and I are going to work on seeing if such a device can be built, with the materials we have onboard." He dismissed the group after answering questions and took Alshain over to an adjacent room, with a PADD with the schematics. "Allright, let's get started. First, the alloy seems to be a tritanium-tungsten alloy. Can we manufacture that?" =/\= END LOG =/\= LtJG Mathew Kirkland DCEO USS Chimera -- ___________________________________________________________ Sign-up for Ads Free at Mail.com http://promo.mail.com/adsfreejump.htm
