===== Kzenti secret research station, Asteriod K-11, Asteroid belt ===== "Retreat, retreat!" called the Erie'Riov Tol'Poh from the Rei'Krannsu to his remaining crew. He kneeled to get a better aid and fired his distruptor along the dark corridor to give his man at least some fire cover. His man were veterans of various battles in the service of the Empire and they were victorious in many fights and against many enemies ... but this time they were really 'kicked in the ass'. Tol'Poh watched his man to run in his direction or those wounded kneeling crawling and kept firing in irregular intervals. His senior sergeant was now besides him and supported the retreating man with additional distruptor fire. Now he activated a frangmentation grenade and throwed it far in the dark deep of the corrior. Counting to three, Tol'Poh ducked a bit as the bright green light accompanied with a loud thunder announced the explosion. His sergenat knew his duties and immediately reported: "Erie'Riov, we have 10 man left, two of them with medium wounds. I recommend retreat to the shuttle." Tol'Poh cursed in his mind. With 10 man left he has last lost 20 good man. Man he knew for years, man he fought many battle alongside, man he regarded as friends. And now, those Kzenti bastards kicked them like little rabbits. Trully, Tol'Poh had to admit that the Tal'shiar underestimated the Kzenti force power. Intel reports pointed only to limited range weapons usage in the Kzenti forces and little to none explosives usage. And now Tol'Poh knew the reasons why ... He could only hope he would live long enough to report it. The Kzenti's main tactical advantage was their Borg like armour suit. Covering all their body besides the fingers and the head, it absorbed an enormous amount of energy without causing any harm to its wearer. He saw one Kzenti soldier to withstand 10! distruptor shots before the eleventh one finally killed him. The other advantage were their cyborg speedy reflexes, lion-like strenght and implant controled accuracy. One thing Tol'Poh would never like to do again was to engage a Kzenti soldier in hand combat. Two of Tol'Poh man (even if clothed in an galaae armour suit) were killed by a simple punch of the Kzenti's fist. Three more were killed by the snake-fast martial art kickes and his second in command was killed by a thrown knife by a Kzenti soldier from 30 Meters distance! He noded to his sergeant: "All right, lets move to teh shuttle. There are we safe for a while". The Romulan sergeant noded and passed the command along. Proffesionalism of the galae soldiers were easy to see as the 10 soldiers slowly withdrawed from the corridor. Three of them formed a back guard unit and the rest of them moved fastly towards their shuttle. ===== Cloaked Romulan shuttle, landed on the Asteroid ===== One thing was sure, it was a good meassure to use a cloak to fly to the asteriod. One reason were the small (but powerfull looking) weapon platforms installed on the nearby asteroids. An uncloaked shuttle would have a ROUGH time while attepting to land here. Not even speaking about what Kzenti ship's could be called to repel teh intruders. The other reason was that a cloackd shuttle was an perfect basis camp. Large enough for a heap of weapon and medicinal supplies and virtually undetectable. The third advantage of an shuttle was the fact that the assault on the Station left no traces leading to the romulans. Every man had an beacon implant and when the implant detected its host beeing heavy injured or death, it activated itself and beamed the wounded man (or the dead corpse) directly into the shuttle. This way no romulan corpses could be found ... and noone could blame the Romulans for this assault. Tol'Poh watched his single remaining field medic to attend the two wounded man and the rest of his team resting and obviously enjoying the peace. He for himself wasnt that happy.
