"That must be frustrating, Steph."
"Very frustrating. I wish that they'd either hurry up and tell me my next
assignment or at least put me up in a better place than this joint."
"Hopefully staying here won't be your assignment."
The pair walking along the row of restaurants shared a laugh before stopping
short outside of one of the nicer looking restaurants on the station. There
didn't appear to be a alot of choices when it came to dining, or drinking
for
that matter, but Will and Stephanie Camden were trying to make the best of
it.
It was the younger of the Camden siblings, Stephanie, who had been sent to
the
station to await orders for her next assignment. Her older brother, Will,
had
just happened to be in the area and stopped a way to meet up with her. It
was
more than a welcome diversion for Stephanie, who was feeling as though she
might be doomed to an existance on this barely-a-space station.
"So, what's good around here," Will asked, scratching his chin in the same
way
he had been doing for years.
"This bar over here is the more decent of the two," Stephanie pointed off to
the
right of where they were standing, "and it serves pretty decent food to top
it
off."
Will raised his eyebrows and smiled. Stephanie knew it was hard for her
brother
to grasp the fact that she was all grown up now, and that she enjoyed a
drink
of synthehol every now and again. After all, even though Will was the
closest
in age to her of all of her siblings, there was still many years that
separated
their births.
As they made their way towards the bar, Stephanie noticed a man who looked
vaguely familiar, staring for a moment at some flowers. He had a green
collar
on...a marine...and she was fairly certain that she hadn't made acquaintence
with many of those types. As soon as the man got into a bit of a scuffle
with
the vendor, Stephanie heard the voice, and thought she recognized that as
well.
"I need a woman," she heard him mutter, as though no one was meant to hear
it.
But Stephanie heard it, and immediately realized. Jack Walsh. Standing
there
for a while, her brother staring at her wondering what the hold up was, she
wondered whether she should go over and say hi.
"What's the matter?" Will asked her.
Instead of answering, she remained silent, still wondering if she should say
something, or whether Jack would even recognize her.
