=/\= Shuttle cockpit =/\= Michael sat at the tactical station in the front of the shuttle along with the other officers and Chief Williams. At any other time he would have felt the shuttle was cramped with the amount of people in there but Michael had no time to notice such things. His eyes were firmly planted on the tactical readout of the shuttle, almost praying that no weapons would lock onto the shuttle and no ships or defence platforms would appear on the scope. For the most part Michael was relaxed although concentrating, that was until the shuttle reached the first waypoint. As the shuttle approved the huge asteroid Michael could fell his leg muscles tense up under consol. He had no doubt regarding the situation they were in. If the facility saw the shuttle it would be a very short mission. Chief Williams gently eased the shuttle over the asteroid just enough for them to be able to scan the facility and decide the best course of action to take. The facility did not seem to notice the small shuttle, from space it looked like a mouse peering from round a corner to see were the family cat was. There was no disillusion among the officers in the front of the shuttle, one wrong move would see this mouse skinned alive. But after getting a few good scans in Michael saw that the Facilities weapons were not armed ad they had no visible defensive shields up. If they had spotted the shuttle it didn’t seem like they saw it a threat. The Scans were confirmed and reconfirmed before the shuttle started using a close asteroid for cover as the shuttle moved towards its second way point trying to keep as much cover between them and the facility as possible, although fading in the distance it was still a very feel threat. Michael quickly glanced across to Chief Williams, he looked a little shaky and Michael was sure he could see sweet running down his face. {I don’t envy you chief,} thought Michael before turning back to the tactical scans. Nothing appeared for some time, the shuttle reached the second way point with little trouble and for a moment every thing looked good. The shuttle started on route for the third and final way point which was situated just above the asteroid they were going to land on. As the shuttle approached the third way point Michael saw something disturbing on his tactical station. Two asteroids close to the way point started generating a power surge. Michael looked a little closer before he realised what he was looking at. Michael in his chair as fast as possible. “Chief!! We got incoming” Captain Walsh tapped Michael on the shoulder, “what is it Lieutenant?” “Weapons platforms on the asteroid sir, charging up” As Michael finished the sentence two purple pulses careered over the shuttle.
