<< OOC ... for those knowing this scene I must apologize .. but i ALWAYS wanted to log it ... ;))) >> ===== Romulan Warbird ===== For good a half hour tried Shane's team to get to Athena's cell. They could not know if it was really a cell Athena was held in, but her location in the security area, near the security office said a lot. Shane was a bit afraid that the Romulans could use torture to get Informations from Athena, but on the other side he hoped that the Romulans were aware of the consequences such an action would have. One thing was kidnapping an starfleetfleet officer and another was his torture. The first could be 'explained' with some 'mistake' happening ... but the second not. Shane's team had to be extremly cautions. Maybe the Romulans were expecting a visit trying to free the counselor ... and there was some trap waiting from them. The idea of having his team looking like romulans looked to work. Till now they have met two 'real' romulans on the corridors and none payed the team much attention. Shane divided his team into two groups. The first, a smaler one, consisted of MaiKai, Kirkland and him, the other from the four ODA memebers. Shane hoped that two man and a woman looked less suspicious then four stern looking 'romulans'. He should soon learn more about that. Kirkland was from time to time scaning their position ... mostly on crossroards. Starfleet intelligence had quite detailed informations about the D'Derix Warbird class inclusive a deck layount, but every ship longer in service was modified by its CEO after every battle or upgrade and Shane didnt wanted to end on a wrong place only cause trusting SSF too much. Kirkland raised his hand and said quietly: "four romulans heading our way. 50 Meters away". Shane looked around and spoted a small computer panel on the wall. Touching Kirkland's shoulder he said: "Open that panel and pretend repairing something." Turning to Mai he said: "Doctor try looking like helping him" Both officers nodded and went closer to teh pannel. After two failed attempts, Kirkland managed to open that panel and looked at the circuits behind it. MaiKai opened her scanner and tried her best to make the impression to scan the panel. The four Romulans appeared from behind the corridor's corner. For the moment it looked like that they will pass Shane's group like the others but one of them frowned a bit and stoped. After a moment the Romulan's three comanions stoped as well and looked at fourth. Only now Shane could recognize the ranks of the four romulans. The first three were NCOs, but the fourt, that was frowning at Kirkland, was an Galae Arrain ... more or less the same rank as Shane was. "Whats going on here?" he asked. Shane looked at the Romulan and replied: "He was send here to look at that" Shane pointed towards Kirkland and the open panel, "orders from engineering" Shane added. Luck was not shining at Shane's team cause the Romulan was in fact the deputy Chief engineer. "I dont know about any problems on this deck. Who gave you this order?" he asked and looked a bit suspiciously at Shane. Shane shrugged: "I have no idea. I dont ask questions when receiving orders and I advice that to everyone" He tried to look stern ... like an Tal'shiar erie'Arrain should. The romulan Engineer looked for a moment at Shane but most probably thought better of messing up with a Tal'shiar officer. Suddenly he looked at Mai and asked: "Its that an medical tricoder?" Mai looked down at her tricoder ... of course, it was true. Mai was supposed to examine Athena's health immediately when they would find her ... and a medical tricoder was the best tool for that. "Erm ... yes" Shane said slowly, "she's a doctor" he added. "Repairing as well?" teh romulan asked. "Erm ... no" Shane replied not knowing what to say next. It was Mai who spoke up: "I am analysing this guy's stress level" pointing at Kirkland. The Romulan engineer looked a bit puzzled. Mai noded like explaining an common treatment: "We want to know how he will act under stress, thats why HE was send for this repair". The romulan engineer looked at Kirkland like expecting him to begin with teh repairs. Kirkland turned back to teh open computer panel and reached with his hand inside. He murmured words like: "Lets pull this .... out" and he pulled his hand out holding a small green-ish pice of computer equipment. Suddenly the lights on the corridor started to flicker. Everyone looked a bit startled around to see what's going on. Kirkland fastly put the computer piece on its original place ... and the lights went on normally again. In an attempt to save teh situation Shane noded secretly towards the romulan engineer and whispered: "You see, he's not very good on ..." and hoped that this romulan was not too a 'bright' guy ... After a moment that seemed an age for Shane the Romulan noded: "Aye, i see" and with a shrugg stared to walk away. His three companions joined him and after a moment they were alone again. "That was quite close" Mai said. Shane grinned at the doctor and replied: "Too close".
