===== Romulan Warbird =====
Another 10 minutes passed since the 'small talk' with the suspicious romulan engineer ... and Shane's team was now almost in sight of the security area. From the decks layount provided by the SSF Shane knew that the security area on this class of an warbird consisted of three security office rooms conected one behind the other and a narrow corridor with two adjuncts. First was the Csec Officer's office and the other was the brig cells area. And the brig cell area was the point where (acording to Kirkland) Athena was held in.
Something that Shane spend a lot of time thinking about was the way how his team should get through all the romulan security officers and 'extract' Athena from romulan's care. There were several alternatives in play ... from pain walking in and pretending to be send to escort Athena to for questioning to the CO, through making some chaos on a nearby corridor and thus lurking some of the sec guards out of their officer to the idea of gaining control of one of the transporter room and beam Athena via site-to-site transport directly to Shane's team. All will depend on the actual situation. Till now, Shane had still hope the first way would be applicable here.
Shane knew from his own command experience that junior officers were most of the time perplexed when meeting with an rank higner officer that seemed to be ABSOLUTELY sure that whatever he was doing it was absolutely right and justified. Just have a look at a cadet or a fresh backed ensign doing duty in an storage room when a LT or higher walks in and demands that IMMEDIATELY some stuff has to be delivered to deck 100 ... the cadet/ensign will find himself carrying that stuff sooner then he could say "sir, yes, sir"
Shane was about to move out from the little room where his team was now hiding into the corridor leading directly to the security area when he felt a strange dizzines for a moment. He knew that feeling ... he experienced it on more occasions ... it was the effect of an ship cloaking! Shane looked back on his team member to see if he was right or just expereincing something different. Kirkland looked indiferently and it was Mai who noded slowly and whispered: "This ship just cloaked sir".
"Damnit!" Shane cursed quietly. When the Warbird was under cloak ... there was virtually none way how to beam over to the Chimera ... with Athena or wihout her. Counting all the facts together ... Shane's team was stranged on the Warbird!
