"The Romulans don't seem to have cloaking device control. An external force seems to have hampered their cloak. But I have an idea." Kirkland waited for Guzman to catch up to him. Shane was quite surprised about the news. Till now he thought that the cloaking was a part of some Romulan plan to fool eighter the Chimera or the Kzenti ... but now the DCEO told him that the Romulans were NOT in control of one of the most vital systen on the ship. {What the heck!} he thought, {is it Chimera and trying to get us out of here or what new devilry?} "If we can access the Romulan transporters and modulate them to precisely the right frequency, we might be able to beam through the Chimera's shields. The cloak itself does not inhibit transport." Shane noded slightly. He was sure that Kirkland knew the exact Chimera's shield frequence by memory ... like most good CEO's do. It was almost funny that the ship's chief engineers knew such details by memory even when waked in the midnight. Remebering his tactical knowledge, Shane asked: "Hmm ... in an case of emergency when the CEO is out of the ship, probably held in the hands of the enemy ... wouldnt be the shield frequenze changed immediately?" He was quite sure that every SF ship would do this just for the case that the enemy would torture the CEO to reveal the frequenz ... and even more that an SSF ship like Chimera would do that. After a little conversation ... Kirkland agreed with him on this point. Even if there was not sure that the Chimera had shields activated, but when yes, it could prove itself quite difficult for the away team to return to their own ship. Shane looked at Mai who cared for the drugged counselor. It could prove itself as a hard task to Make Athena move fast when needed ... for example in a combat situation. Maybe it would be beter to have one of the ODA 'strong guys' to carry the counselor on in his hands. With an almost undetectable grin Shane thought that neighter Athena or the Marine would compain. The marine would ost probably think about himself as a lucky guy to have a woman like Athena in his hands ... {Carrying ...} there was something on his mind ... an idea ... but he was not sure what idea ... {carrying ... carrying ... carriage ...a SHUTTLE!} he got it finally. Turning to Kirkland he said: "What about stealing a shuttle? Once we will be outside the ship ... we can surely easily secretly contact the Chimera and tell them that its us ..."
