===== Somewhere on the Romulan Warbird ===== "Negative. They've detected the unauthorized transport and locked down their transports. Luckily, I think the scan is delocalized. They can't know where we are. What should we do, Commander? Maybe it is time to steal a shuttle." He tried a different command, and produced a map of the deck. He shrugged. "I can't read Romulan. Can anyone read this?" Shane was full in hope as Kirkland tried his magic and transport them back on the Chimera. He knew that the chances were not overhelming but he always regarded the Engineers as some sort of wizards ... they often complained about time shedules and about the difficulties of a task ... but once agreed with them on what's the problem ... they "always" found a way how to make "it" work ... well, almost always. Shane felt a little glimpse of panic when the team found itself still on the Warbird ... the first Shane's thought was that the romulans revealed them and that in the next moment a dozen of armed romulans will ambush his team ... but a moment passed and no romulans came. He was still full of concerns, but thought that maybe it wasnt a too bad day ... An another story was the stealig of an romulan shuttle. That task for itself was more then difficult. The shuttles were usually not left unguarded and with red alert called on board, the security posts will be surely doubled. And even IF they will manage to get inside a shuttle, it was a good question how to get out of the ship and how to fly over to the Chimera without the Warbird itself detecting them and open fire. Yes a shuttle usually was shielded, but Shane was sure that a concentrated fire from the Warbird would destroy a shuttle within 30 seconds. All the idea was a bit crazy ... but wasnt that the whole mission? Shane swiftly looked at his team. The ODA 'romulans' immediately took a standart defending position in the small room the away team now occupied, but looked not much suprised still beeing in enemy territory. One stayed and held Athena by her arm, Athena herself still looked "shifted out" and Mai tried obviously her best to stay calm. She wasnt a marine, she was a doctor and not used to operate behind enemy lines. But as she said before, she was all right and Shane had only to trust her. Taking a step closer to Kirkland Shane shrugged back and said: "Neighter can I, but Lieutenant Oriana taught me a little vulcan and i think vulcan and romulan are somewhat similar languages." Looking at the displayed decks layount, Shane thought how confusiong it looks like with the unfamiliar romulan symbols instead of written 'english'. Shane stared at the little computer display and tried to remember the little Oriana taught him about vulcan language. Romulans were long standing enemies of the federation and Shane though that it might proove to be usefull to know at least a bit from their language. The same about Klingon and Cardassian. He scratched his left ear and after a little while he pointed towards one certain symbol on the display. "This symbol looks similar to the vulcan words or 'flying device' and 'room' so i take it that that is a shuttle deck" he grinned a bit tired and added: "Eighter that or its an antimeatter storage room ... what wouldent be of a great help" Some of the team members looked at Shane like there were not in the mood for jokes, but none said any remark. Getting no negative response he said: "All right folks, lets go moving, Two ODA from guard, then Kirkland and Quiocho, Athena and the other two marines and me." Looking at Kirkland he added: "Lieutenant, please keep an eye on the romulan crew, if they will get a trace about us beeing here ... I want to know" Glancing over at Mai he continued: "Doctor, I entrush the counselor in your care, I want her unspoilt and in one piece back on the Chimera. In case of any emergency, you will take the counselor and the two marines and continue to the shuttle deck. We will come after you ... {when at all}" Then an idea striked Shane's head and after a slight hesistation he asked: "Anyone ever piloted an romulan shuttle before?"
