====== Cargo bay, Warbird ===== Mai, finally, pulled out her tricorder once more and knelt down by Wellington. She scanned her over. MaiKai had caught a glimpse of consciousness, but still no sign of any drug used. She went to stand back up when Athena had caught a hold of her wrist. Mai knelt back down immediately. "Lieutenant, it's just me ... LtJg. Quiocho. No worries were here for you." MaiKai wasn't sure whether Athena believed her or not, but Mai turned around and tugged at the hem of the Cmdr.'s pants. After agreeing with the DCEO about attempting to steal a shuttle, Shane's attention was drawn by the sweet doctor who tugged on his pants. Shane looked at Mai with a bit of surprise. There were not many crew on the Chimera that touched him on any occasion ... Rangi, Athena, Keylor and now ... MaiKai. Seeing in the doctor's eyes that it might be of importance he asked: "Yes doctor?" and waited for Mai's reply. Sighing as the Cmdr. answered her tugging. "Could you help ... Get her to understand who we are. I don't think she gets it ... and get her from slouching on me, she isn't that light." Mai gave a little grin and awaited for a response. Shane glanced at Athena and looked back at the young doctor. Starfleet was never much concerned about one's body musculature, weight and height (maybe besides the Marines), but it was true that Mai wasn't the tallest on board ... by far. She was a skilled doctor and with the time spent on board she got even more and more experienced ... but physically, she wasn't the best choice for supporting Athena. Athena was a bit older, higher and if good manners would allow it ... even a bit heavier. <<OOC: ::grins:: >> Shane looked back at Athena and thought what could be done to make her understand the situation. If Athena would be a man (but that would be more then pity for many other male crew members) Shane would slap his face once or twice. You would wonder what 'refreshing' effect such an action usually has. Looking again back at Mai he asked: "Can't we do nothing to neutralize the effects of the drugs?" He could of course not know what and if any drugs she was injected with, but he tried his luck: "Or some stimulants? Don't worry about supporting Athena to move, two of the marines will, "Shane grinned slightly" gladly do that, but I would really appreciate it when she could walk on her own ..." MaiKai thought for a moment and of the circumstances, "Well, Commander ... I could inject something to help out, but I have a little concern. I'm afraid I'm not sure if they injected her with anything at all and if I were to give her something to relieve any tension that the two, if there is by all means a second, that they would combine and make an ironic effect." She tried to slide Athena towards the floor a bit more without knocking her over. Mai waited until two marines walked up to them to help Athena. Shane nodded: "I see." Some time back on the SF Academy, Shane did 3 years of medicine study as well, so even though he wasn't a doctor, then at least he was educated laic in medicinal matters. He had little use for that knowledge in the following years of duty in SF or SSF, but what Mai said gave much sense to him. A second medicament given to Athena could cause more troubles then worth. The two marines supported now the counselor and Shane looked back at Mai again: "Well doctor, I fear that we have to leave the counselor in this state until we are back on the Chimera, I don't want to risk any additional medical problems for her ... but I have a question for you", he paused for a moment, " I know you haven't been on much away teams til now, so I would like to know how YOU are feeling?" {How am I feeling? I got surgery to look like a pile of green shit ... and I get ask 'How am I feeling?'} MaiKai smirked a bit at the sarcasm hinted to herself. Now saying with a serious tone, "Never better Commander." Mai smiled and awaited to move on. She wanted this all to be over and done with, hopefully, with no one seriously injured by the end of this mission. Shane had the slight feeling that Mai wasn't meaning what she was saying, but his mind was too much occupied with worries about his team to consider it more deeply. He then nodded: "That's good Doctor. I must say that you are doing very well considering the situation we are in. Lets hope our luck won't forsake us and we will be back on the Chimera within a short time." "Wouldn't that be wonderful? Us back onboard and you get to see Rangi," reply to the reassured statement from the ACO. His voice seemed strained when she mentioned she was just fine. Thinking it was nothing to worry about, she continued to walk by the two marines escorting Athena. ====== End Log ====== Commander Shane Guzman ACO USS Chimera & LtJg. MaiKai Quiocho AMO USS Chimera
