===/-\= Kzenti Facility =/-\=== By the time Cortez was able to get back into the fight, the team was close to being wiped out. Gary was laying on the ground with a crazy grin on his face, fumbling with his phaser. Another ODA member was laying on the ground, possibly unconscious, and the remaning two were fighting a losing battle with the seemingly unstoppable Kzenti. "These guys fight hard", Cortez mumbled as he fired on one of the Kzenti trying to get its attention away from his comrades. But the Kzenti ignored the phaser fire and knocked one of the ODA members to the ground with a single swing from his arm. Out of the corner of his eye Cortez noticed Gary had stopped fiddling with his phaser and fired it at one of the Kzenti. For some reason it reacted to the shot and directed its attention towards Gary, who was still on the ground. But before he could get off another shot the Cyborg had already picked him up by the throat and slammed him into the wall, knocking his phaser loose which then slid across the floor and landed at Cortez''s feet. Cortez remembered Gary saying something about modified isolinear chips before the team left the ship and quickly picked up the phaser. He noticed the access panel was open and that an odd looking chip had slipped out of place from inside the weapon. He quickly pushed the Isolinear chip back into place and aimed the weapon towards the Kzenti. "What the hell", Cortez said to himself as he ran up behind the Kzenti who was still attacking Gary. He then placed the phaser to the back of the Cyborgs skull and fired. The effect was instantaneous. Half of its head disintegrated and it immediately let go of Gary who luckily still seemed to be alive, then collapsed to the floor itself. Cortez quickly turned around and fired at the remaining Kzenti who had just finished knocking an ODA member into the wall. The blast tore through the cyborgs left shoulder leaving an opening the size of a grapefruit. Before the Kzenti had time to react Cortez let off another shot which hit the cyborg directly in the face. "Bingo", he said as he watched the Kzenti fall to the floor and start twitching. Wiping the sweat from his brow, he turned to see if Gary was allright. Unfortunately he instead saw two more Kzenti staring at him from inside the engineering room and Gary's seemingly unconscious body laying in the doorway blocking the door from closing.
