=== Kzenti facilit operations room=== Gary lay on the floor barely conscious form his bounce against the door. In the background he could hear voices but he could not make them out. His mind was all a fog and it hurt to even breath. He figured the best thing was to remain still and let the impact on his body fade away. His plan was soon intrupted with a hiss of a hypo spray. Suddenly his senses raced to reality and every never ending in his body seemed to scream in agony. He opened his eyes only to find Specialist Ramerez hovering over him. "Your going to be alright Petty officer." She said as he groaned. Pulling a second hypo out, she injected him again. It must have been some kind of pain killer because within a minute the pain started to dull. Still laying on the floor he saw Jack standing near the door looking down the hall way and talking to a few of the ODA members. The voices started to become clearer. "SO how do we get form here to the other team?" Jack asked. "Well sir," said one of the team members, "We should be able to backtrack down the halls . Hopefully the way is still clear and we will meet little resistance." Gary saw Jack nod and look back towards him. Seeing Gary's eyes open, Jack spoke "You ready to move Petty Officer?" he asked. Gary rolled his eyes and remarked, "Any one get the number of that tarkalian beast that hit me?" he said with a half grinn and starting to push him self up in to a sitting position. "Jack smiled, "No but I hear it was just a little thing. Cant believe you let something like that knock you out." Gary sat up and looked around. The Engineering specialist was behind him looking at a console and scanning it. Ramerez was putting her things away and Cortez was fiddling with a hand phaser. Then he looked on the floor and saw a Kzenti on the ground with a big hole in his shoulder. He looked back at Cortez and asked, "Did the modified Phaser do that?" Cortez looked over at Gary and nodded, "Aye but only at close range. This phaser you threw me had a greater effect on them than my standard one." Gary nodded gently. Gary reached in to his cargo pocket and pulled out a hand full of isolinear chips. He raised his hand up to Jack like a gift. "I suggest you have everyone here replace their chips with these. It will aid us in any future conflicts with them. He said. Gary closed his eyes, his brain bouncing about in his skull. Some one took the chips form his hand, but he did not know who. He heard Jack give an order for everyone to modify their phasers and Gary, with out opening his eyes attempted to stand up. Some one grabbed his arm, he figured it was Ramerez helping him to his feet. Though he still had strength in his legs, he was unstable from the pain, he groaned a bit as he stood. "Do you need another pain killer Petty officer?" Ramerez asked. One to his feet, Gary shook his head no, "No I will make do. Another one of those and you might have to peel me off of the ceiling." he said, muttering to him self he said, "Man am I going to be sore tomorrow.". As the clatter of people modifying their phasers echoed about him, Gary turned slowly to the console in the middle of the room. There he saw the Engineering specialist, Corporal Allen scanning things. Gary stumbled over to him. "So what is this thing for? " he asked. Allen replied not looking up form his tricorder. "Well it looks like some sort of Brain wave emission. My best guess is that they are either trying to communicate with some one, or trying to control them." Allen pointed to a display. "their current emissions seem to be pointed in two places , the romulan war bird and the chimera. I cant make out exactly what they are up now, the data is in a strange language, but the numbers would indicate some form of attenuated fee back." Gary nodded as if he understood what Allen said. "Well that cant be good. Can you shut it down?" Allen shook his head, "no petty officer. Their controlled were locked and I have not been able to hack in yet." Gary Looked back to Jack. "Captain. May be we should ..." Jack interrupted him as he replaced a power cell in to his phaser rifle. "We are going to blow this place up. While you are out I decided to find the other away team, and get out of here, after destroying this facility." Gary nodded, "Aye sir, but what I was going to suggest is that we lay a few charges in here. Try to disable this thing, what ever it is. If they are trying to play mind tricks on the chimera, who knows what havok they are causing." Jack looked like he was in thought for a moment and then nodded, "Ok make it happen." He then pointed down the hall. "Select two people to lay charges and the rest of us will start back to the other team." Gary nodded and looked over to Cortez. "Cortez, you and Allen set the charges. Make it a short fuse, but long enough for you to get clear. Then catch up with the rest of us." Cortez nodded in compliance." Gary then looked around for a phaser. In the combat he had lost both his rifle and his hand phaser. He stumbled towards the door and searched the floor. As he neared the Kzenti bodies in the hall a rifle magically appeared under his nose. "Here you go petty officer." Said a unidentified voice. Gary looked up and the young face and smiled, "Thanks crewman." Taking the rifle he gripped it in his hands and started to follow Jack and the others slowly. {God I am getting to old for this.} he thought. {And to think I requested this assignment.} ===End Log== PO1 Gary Williams ODA ops.
