Hello Crew, Well the plot is over and the crew is on R&R! The Ship will be docking at SB Bragg. Remember that Bragg is a Starfleet special forces base. There are shops and bars and restaurants, but not as many as you would find on your typical star base and not as busy because everyone on the base has to have clearence to be there ( after all we are the special forces ). Now this week we have started a new month and with a new month comes changes. Three crewmen have been dropped form the roster. but several more are comming on board. This month we say good by to Pete Birt and Hawk Varsey. But with the old comes new. Comming on board are: CWM V'lek Sameron the new ships chef ( beta shift) Lt Jamie Gannsen a New AMO Cdt John Dalby the new Assistant Science officer Cdt Rick Rodgers a new Engineer LtCmdr Samantha Palmer Mission specialist Welcome aboard to all of the new crew. Many of you know Samantha as Mercedes Carpenter ( AKA Bren). Samantha will become a perminent fixture on the ship. Now you may still see a few logs from Mercedes, As of this report, Mercedes has been classified as a NPC on this ship, since Samantha will become Bren's primary character. Now ther are a few command changes I need to announce. After her nearly 20 months of faithful service on the ship, many of them as ships 2XO in character and out of Character, LtCmdr Rangi summers is taking a step back from the the 2XO position. Rangi will still be part of the command team out of character. Also she will remain the ships Cheif medical officer, but after the next plot has concluded, Rangi will no longer carry the responsibility of 2xo in character. Rangi, you have been on this ship since its' creation. With your help you have aided Muma and myself trendemously. You have chipped in and helped with the weekly report, with counseling crewmembers when neither Muma or I have been around, and even done your best to help retain crew and recruit new crew. You have been a life saver for us and part of the reason the chimera keeps chugging along while many groups in ucip are struggling. For that the XO and I cant thank you enough. And though you are not leaving the command team, only stepping back one step to allow someone else to come in and contribute, I want to give you a token of my appreciation and award you The Fleet Commendation award. Now with Rangi stepping back, some one will be stepping forward, as of this report LtCmdr Samantha Palmer is assigned the role of 2XO OOC( out of character). And after the end of the next plot Samantha will take on the role of 2XO IC ( in Character). Welcome aboard Bren. Ok enough of me rambling. On with the report. Keep logging and have fun. Indy ===== XO's comment ===== Hello CHimera crew, finally we have reached the end of the Kzenti plot and now its time for some free time on R&R. Now is the best time for some character development and personal interaction. SB Bragg (where the CHimera is now docked)is a huge place with many possibilities how to spend time, so dont be afraid ... go and explore it! I am glad that we've finished the Kzenti plot smoothly and even if the log count for the last week was again only average, there were several very nice logs to read. To recognize your efforts and dedication to the sim and the plot the Command team is now considering some awards and promos. Stay tuned ... they will be surely given out soon ... ;) Lets not forget ... there is a number of new crew waiting to board the ship ... so its a perfect time to meet them and make some new friends! BGen Bretam Keylor Captain USS Chimera _______________________________________________________________________ =/\= PROMOTIONS/ACADEMY/AWARDS =/\= ======================================================================= Promotions: None. ======================================================================= Academy: None. ======================================================================= Awards: SD240505.11 LtCmdr Rangi Summers Fleet Commendation =/\= MISSION ASSIGNMENTS/MISSION SUMMARY/QUOTES OF THE WEEK =/\= ======================================================================= Mission Asignments Last Week: Return to the chimera and prepart for R&R This week: R&R ======================================================================= Mission Summary () Battered and bruised the away team to the Romulan war bird struggeld to keep thier life boat of a shuttle afloat long enough to reach the saftey of the Chimera. They held on long enough and were beamed directly in to Chimeras sick bay. Kirkland , thinking he was beamed aboard the romulan ship immediately grabs a hostage, unaware wher he was. Thankfully e comes to his senses and relaxes. Even Maikai was a bit delieriuos and even with a shiner, she takes the offensive once beamed to the chimera and had to be talked down as well. Athena, now nauseous for m the drugs the romulans gave her and the bumpy ride in the shuttle, lets herself slip in to a half consciousness once in the sickbay. In her head the interrogations of the romulans echo through her mind, and slip past her lips as some ramblings of a mad woman. Having recovered the romulan boarding party in the nicjk of time, Rangi heads down to sickbay to check on them and lend a hand. Worried that Shane was alright, she rushed to sickbay only to find Shane asleep. Seeing Shane was fine, she turned her attention to the mumbling Athena. She tries to make sense of the ramblings of Athena and confers with Scott (npc) about Athena's treatment. As they try to make sence of the mumblings of sleeper agents and recants of torture, Athena finally comes too enough t ask for water. Hopeing what ever had been done to Athena was wearing off, Rangie leaves Scott to hsi duty of caring for athena. On the asteroid, things heat up. As Jack heads out to get the shuttle moving to beam out the awa team, he is confronted by a Kzenti soldier on the planet surface. Thankfully the lone ODA member in the shuttle had ventured out to meet Jack and dispatched the Kzenti. The two of them return to the shuttle and take off. They fly over to the Kzenti facility and beam out the remaining team members. As all members were beamed aboard and the shuttle raced to the saftey fo the chimera, Jack slipps in to anaflactic shok. The oda medic hurries to stabilize Jack just long enough to get him to the chimera. Gary Williams takes the remainder of his group and meets up with Mcknight and Oriana. He is surprised to see a few romulans wokring with Oriana. Shortly after hsi arrival the team is confronted by determined Kzenti soldiers. The romulans beam away and Mcknight instructs oriana to find a was to use Kzenti technology to allow for thier communications to penatrate the Kzenti facility. Gary leave Oriana to her work and heads out to the firt, only to be grazed by a phaser balse and pass out. Cortez takes up position in the hall outside of the lab where Oriana is. He and the other oda members gallantly defend their position, even though they slowly loose ground. After dispatching a Kzenti or two, Cortez helps pull injured Oda members in to the lab. His efforts are paid off when he gets the word they are transporting and to hold their ground for a few more minutes. Back in the sick bay Rangi goes over Athena's test results. She discovers that athena ahd a brutal time, most likely offering up a fight to her captors. She also discovers that Athena had a unknown drug in her system that resembled a truth serum. Back on the bridge, Shane starts to take stoke in what had happened. As the chimera makes her way out of Kzenti space , Shane is notified that an armada of intrepid ships and romulan warbirds were heading to federation space. After hailing the ships, Shane deduces that the armada is part of the Kzenti deception. Before he can even react, a romulan war bird decloaks a near the Kzenti facility on the asteroid. With deft accuracy, the Warbird completely disintegrates the asteroid and the facility. With their base of operations destroyed, the Kzenti loose their ability to mimic other ships. Deciding that they would be hard pressed to attack the federation with out their deception, the Kzenti pull back. Shane cloaks the Chimera and heads her back to SB Bragg. Back on earth, Ens Rick Rodgers completes his academy training at a ceremony for graduates. He is disappointed that his elder brother was unable to attend, called away on a mission for the USS Archer. Rick receives his orders and is assigned to the USS Chimera. with no time to waste, Rick gets his traveling orders and has to depart to his new home, the chimera. ======================================================================= Quotable Quotes ( By Indy and Bren) "We have a beliver!" Shane doeasnt believe in a god. His personality was a practical one with no desire to pray and believe in anything supernatural, he believes in human abilities and their desire to reach always new levels ... but it looked like a miracle when suddenly ... out of nowhere, the Chimera appeared just some 1000 meters to the left of the runabout. Cmdr Shane "I believe, I believe" guzman ---- "You killed KENNY!" Suddenly, Kirkland rematerailzed and lunged forward, at one of the Doctors with his phaser drawn. "You won't capture me, Romulan bastards!" he called out. Ltjg Mathew "Cartman" Kirkland - The poor medical officers are always the first to be held hostage. -- "Did I do that?" {Romulans!!} For a moment, it appeared that the place was full of them. Rangi smiled at her own foolishness and walked forward, her eyes scanning the room for the figure she sought. {The disguises 'are' effective} she thought, recognising the crew altered by cosmetic surgery. Ltcmdr Rangi "Blond" Summers -- "You would think they would learn." "All muscle no brains", Cortez said to himself as he fired his rifle and landed a head shot on the nearest advancing Kzenti, which immediately collapsed onto the floor. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed two more ODA members come from out of the room and take up defense positions at the intersection. PFC Richard "dead Eye" Cortez - Maybe the Kzenti should consider a career in figure modelling. -- Cortez had to step over one of the dead kzenti to place some explosives under one of the consoles and noticed what looked like a data padd laying on the ground. He grabbed it and slipped it into his pocket. "Maybe its somebodys cookbook", Garret joked to himself. And continued placing charges. (Private 1st Class Richard Cortez) - I bet it's the Kzenti version of "How To Cook Fleeties For Dummies". = -- Shane stood up from the chair and said: "Cloak us Mr. Foster, Mr. York, set the course for federation space, Starbase Bragg, maximum warp... I belive that our diplomatic mission is at end." (Commander Shane Guzman) - And finally the mission is over!
