After a few days of recuperating and a couple of good meals, Athena was
feeling much better. She stood at her post awaiting the new crew members. Even
though she still had some bruising left around her eye and cheek, Athena hoped
that she presented a cheerful and helpful first appearance to those coming on
board. There were a couple of transfers and a new recruit or two.
Athena had put together an informative padd that had each person's assigned
quarters and any generic access codes to gain access, an order to get a
physical from the ships medical department (a must for the CMO) and the general
layout of the ship. She hoped they would all check in sooner rather than later as
she waited. She smiled at crew members as they walked on and off the ship for
some much needed R&R. The morning rush off people was over and Athena's mind
began to wonder as she waited.
A sunny day, a green field sprinkled with dots of blue, purple, yellow and
red and a cool breeze. She imagine sitting on a blanket with her face upturned
to the sun. Her expression was a peaceful one as she waited and day dreamed.
She sensed the presence of someone else and her eyes popped open as she
welcomed them aboard handed them a padd and answered their questions. Then she
would resume her position and her day dream.
