MaiKai and the Security Officer had returned to the Chimera from a
late lunch to maybe an early dinner sort of a meal. They reached her quarters
and walked in. Kaine was glad to be home as Mai took off his leash and laid it
on the floor. She wanted to do something fun. She didn't want to continue
not having any friends and mourning over her step brother any more. Kaine
jumped on the bed and immediately curled up to fall asleep amongst the covers.
"Yes?" Stan asked as he saw the concerned, sad look that appeared on
the young Hawaiian's face. "Nothing ... " she replied. MaiKai shifted her
feet back and forth while the two stood there. She was thinking of something to
do, but to get rid of any deep conversation. Mai smiled real wide up at
Stan. She just now realized how much more taller he was then her. MaiKai stands
at 5'3 and not getting any taller. Mai still stared up at him with an evil,
happy smile.
Arching an eyebrow, Stan was afraid to ask, but he had to, "What?" It
took Mai bluntly blurted out, "We should go to a Holodeck ... and go surfing
..." Pressman's mouth dropped almost to his chin, "What? I don't even know
how ! ... "Mai widened her smile more and gave a little, girlish chuckle as she
shook her head. "I'll teach you silly. I've done it all my life. It'll be
fun!" MaiKai grabbed his hand and started to head for the door.
Stan dug his feet into the ground so she practically had to drag him.
"I don't think this is such a good idea, Mai ..." He looked into her eyes and
then down at the floor. She laughed a little and replied, "Now, Stan ...
Would I ever steer you wrong?" As MaiKai winked back at him, Stan regained his
confidence to walk by himself and the two headed for a holodeck.

Quiocho and Pressman arrived at their designation and typed in the
code needed for clearance and what would be in the holodeck. They walked in.
Mai was dressed in her normal two piece bathing suit. It was orange, red, and
yellow and reflected off her tan, skin tone. She was holding her old surf
board that was a light blue and as you eyed it down, it would faded from that
light blue to a purple or indigo. Stan had a pair of trunks on that were black
and had blue flames going up the sides. His board was just very simple, plain,
and very white.
MaiKai put her board vertically at the edge of the water and laid on
it with her stomach. She started to paddle out using mostly her arms.
Pressman followed making sure not to fall off into a water and was aware of his
surroundings. He was good at sports and always had been, but when it had to deal
with balance, Stan lacked there of. Another factor that plays in for Pressman
is that he has never surf boarded before.
Mai got up from her stomach and straddled her board and waited for a
wave to come, but first she decided to explain some basics to Stan "The Man"
Pressman. "Ok. First you want to do once you see a wave your able to ride is,
gently paddle out to it how we did and slowly start to stand. However, don't
stand all the way up. Next, move you feet how the current is taking you, if
you fight the wave you'll topple over. Personal experience ... not good." She
stopped jibber jabbering and looked in Stan's direction. He nodded in
acknowledgment and understood. Pressman was confident that he could do it ... seems
pretty easy.
MaiKai saw a little roll-over wave coming from the distance. "Here
we'll try this one. If I can do it, surely you can Stan," she smiled and
watched how he tentatively listened to her. They, again, got on their stomachs and
paddled out towards the wave. The small wave was now nearing them and as it
almost touched their boards, the two gently rose up. They looked haunched
over, but while Stan glided across the top of the wave Mai did a few flip-like
tricks before coming off the wave to rest and wait for the next one.
"Not bad for a first-timer. How'd you like it?" She winked at him as
she made sure she noted his excellence for an amateur. Stan smiled as he sat
on his board, "It was fun. That trick you did was pretty cool. One day, I'm
going to be better then you!" MaiKai shook her head, "In your dreams!" She
smirked. Mai swam out to the next wave coming, which was about medium height.
