=/\= Captain's Ready Room =/\= After his meeting with Lt. Foster, Commander Guzman, and everyone else who felt the need to come see him, Keylor finished his meal, being careful to chew each bit thoroughly. He then returned to his desk to continue reading the various reports that remained. Once he had read the full medical report on Athena and the encounter he she had, he figured it would be a nice gesture to check in with her. He had asked the ensign manning the operations console to see if the counselor was aboard and ask her to come up to the bridge if she was available, he then went back to reading. He was half way through the engineering's departments readiness report when the door to the office chimed. "Come!" he said not looking up from his pad. Athena had been in the middle of a work out when she got the message the that General Bretam wanted to see her in his ready room. She grabbed a towel and a bottle of water and was now just about at her destination. She paused at the door and rang the chime. At the single command to "Come," Athena began to enter but paused mid step. She sudden felt cold and the energy in the room seemed dark somehow. As he read, he heard the door hiss. Not hearing the door hiss closed, he looked up to see Athena standing there, looking at him. Through the open door he could see the few bridge officers looking over through the door way at both Athena and Keylor. Not sure why Athena was standing there, he figured he needed to either have her enter or leave because the way that Lt. York and the Ensign operations officer were looking at him would suggest another rampant rumor was about to be born. "Would you like to come in Counselor?" he asked gesturing to a chair near the desk. Athena entered and walked across to the desk and sat in the chair on her side of the desk. "Sir," she inquired as she waited for Keylor to look up from the pad he was reading. She took a swallow of water from her bottle. Keylor set the padd he was reading down and relaxed in to his chair. "So Counselor. How are you feeling? I hear you had quite the adventure on that last mission." He asked not expecting much of a response form the ever evasive counselor. "Yes, I guess you could call it an adventure," she replied as she gathered her thoughts. "I'm feeling much better now thank you," Athena continued as she resisted the urge to touch the slight bruising that remained around her eye. She did however lay one of her arms protectively across the bruising and soreness she could feel along her rib cage. Keylor listen to her somewhat calm demeanor. "SO do you remember much of your time on the Romulan ship? Do you remember how you got there?" he asked and then looked curious. "Did they....... Mistreat you in any other way, other than physical torture?" he wondered if something less than savory happened during her capture. "Yes, I remember how I got there," she started calmly. She took a swallow of the water from her bottle and placed it on the corner of the desk before elaborating. "I had managed to escape the Kzenti cell that I was in and was running from the soldiers when I turned the corner right into the arms of the Romulans. They transported immediately to their ship where I managed to get away but only temporally." Athena paused and took another drink; avoided the details of her dining experience with the Romulans. "Once I was recaptured I was taken to a small room in security where I was asked over and over again the same questions which I either refused to answer or didn't have the answers. Mostly I said nothing as I put myself in a deep meditative state and during that time they drugged me." She fell silent and began to stare blankly at one of the figurines on the desk slowly moving to the next until her gaze fell upon the sheathed knife. Keylor watched as Athena talked. She seemed, somehow distant. And though her answers were more detailed than usual, he still could not shake the idea she was not telling him everything. The thought struck him funny {Why is it lately I get the feeling that people are hiding things form me? May be I need to get out of the ssf.} He thought trying to look focused on Athena. As her words ended, he asked "So you have recovered form the drugs?" She gave a small shiver at the hateful energy that seemed to be emanating from the displayed weapon while she remained transfixed on that item. She felt as though it was trying to tell her a story and she didn't get it. Athena gave her head a shake to clear it and looked up at the General. "Excuse me," she answered when she realized she hadn't heard what he asked her. "I was asking if you have fully recovered from the drugs they administered. The report form sick bay said you were muttering something for quite some time."He asked. "Yes, I've recovered from the drugs more or less," was her careful and calm response. Athena wished she could remember what happened to her after the drugs were administered but she couldn't remember anything. Her gaze fell to one of the figurines and she slowly started sliding it across the desk with her mind. "What was it you were muttering? Do you remember?" he followed with her response. At the repeated question, Athena looked toward the window and said, "No, I don't remember much after the drugs until I sort of came to and saw Scott. It bothered her more than she let on that she couldn't remember. "I believe I was reciting some kind of codes," added to answer the general's questions. Needing a change of subject she began to ask, "How was your....", but her words fell silent as she turned back to face the desk and her eyes fell to the knife once more. "My ?" he started to continue her question. He noticed her looking at the blade. Keylor knew she was a telepath with latent telekinetic abilities, but somehow he felt she was picking up on something. May be she was picking up on the thoughts of Bertold that seemed to pop up in his minds once and a while. Though she had been trained not to randomly probe people's thoughts, pure telepaths sometimes could not help them selves from picking up feelings. Regardless, this was a subject he was not to come out and confess to someone. "My leave served its purpose." He said in short sigh tired of being asked the same question. She looked away from the knife as another cold shiver fell over her. Her concentration fell to the mug on the desk and she moved it a few inches before grabbing her bottle of water and taking another drink before meeting Keylor's gaze. Sitting in the awkward silence, Keylor decided to finish with the subject of her mumblings. "Codes, huh? Well, if you have not done so, change all of your Starfleet access codes just in case. Though you codes won't unlock the ship for any rogue Romulan, you should do it just the same."He suggested as she gave him an empty look. Athena nodded, but still remained silent as she watched Keylor's mug inch further away from its original resting spot. She was happy that she was able to move thing quietly with her telekinetic powers, but was disappointed that the most she could manage was a few inches at a time without some mishap coming to pass. Keylor looked back, trying to figure out what it was that Athena was thinking. She was not her usually coy self, some of the playfulness missing form her demeanor. Either the subject of her encounter during the last mission or his latent thoughts of Bertold were not sitting well with her, and not having the gift of telepathy, he decided to move on to some other topic. "So are you planning to take some time on the base? Stretch your legs and perhaps relax?"he asked her."I hear that the base just opened up a risen mineral spa." He chuckled."The word was that it took a year just to get the approval of the security branch just to allow two female and one male risen on the base. Something about being a seduction risk. Any way. I hear they can give a full relaxing massage and facial."He cocked his head to one side and looked in to her shifting gaze. "It might do you some good to simply relax and let someone take your tension away."He prodded to Athena. She hadn't planned on leave the ship remembering the trouble she had managed to find herself in the last time they were at Bragg. She took a sip of her water as she thought about the general's suggestion. One of her eyebrows raised with a couple of her more interesting thoughts. Her brow then furrowed as she seemed to be considering something as she looked at Keylor. She pushed away her own unpleasant thoughts and the cool darkness that seemed to be coming from elsewhere and smiled. "That seems to be an interesting idea," she replied and then continued with a shrewd look, "but I think I'll have to pass," she paused to watch the general's face for a couple of seconds, "unless, Sir, you would go with me and get a massage yourself and perhaps join me for dinner?" Hrm." he hummed as he thought of the idea. "I doubt I will have time for a massage, but I could possible meet you on the base for a meal." He said not thinking she might be trying to aquire a companion to venture out on to the base. He then looked down at his desk and searched for a padd. Finding the one he was looking for, he lifted it up and tapped on it. "If you are looking for some company., perhaps you could invite this LtJg. MaiKai Quiocho. After the mission she had to have some knee surgery. She might enjoy the massage and mineral bath." Athena waited with curiosity for the general's answer and the expressions that passed over his face were amusing. As she waited she continued to move the things on his desk until they rested in different positions. She had even managed to have his mug come to rest on the edge of the desk. Reaching for the mug, Keylor spoke. "Counselor? Are you listening?" he asked. "And I would appreciate it if you don't practice your telekinetics in here, I remember the last time you were using them and I was pelted by a pillow at least twice." He smirked. A small smirk passed over her face as the mug fell over the edge from the slight vibration of the general's last movement. The smirk was more for the expression that passed over his face than the actually spilling of the drink. "I'll get it, Sir," she offered and stood to clean up the mess. Athena set the mug back on the desk and then threw the towel that had been around her neck over the spill and began to sop up the liquid. Keylor sighed. "Anyway counselor? What do you think? Take LtJg MaiKai Quiocho the spa, get to know her a bit relax a little. My treat?" he said trying to get her to focus on the topic at hand. "I'll ask her and see you for dinner tomorrow," she replied as she finished cleaning up the mess. Meeting the general's gaze she continued with an innocent expression on her face, "Didn't you tell me that I should practice my skills so that I would have more control?" Keylor smiled a weak smile and nodded, "Yes but not in my office. If you want to make a mess, do it in your own quarters." He said. Athena smiled at his reply, but didn't make any promises about where or when and with whom she would work on improving her skills. "For dinner; Casual dress," she asked eliminating the extra words. "What? No formal dress? Darn and I was hoping to pull out my dress whites." He chuckled. He saw her stand and stood himself. "Tomorrow dinner it is. Say 18:00 on the main promenade." She stood not quite at attention waiting to be dismissed. As soon as she was given the word she turned and sauntered toward the door. Athena looked over her shoulder as the door hissed open and shook her head as the general buried himself in the reading of another padd. "Don't work too hard," she said as she walked through the door and it hissed closed behind her. Looking at the padd in his hands, he replied. "You either, counselor." Athena winked Lt. York and the ensign at the operations station before she left the bridge. =/\= End Log =/\= Bgen Bretam Keylor Captain & Lt Athena Wellington Counselor
