=/\= USS Chimera =/\= Rangi, had returned to the ship for a half day. Shane had needed to deal with some small problem so not wanting to spend time alone on the base, she had returned to work too...for a while. Lt Jamie Gannsen; the striking former fleet medical officer stepped off the transporter padd of Starbase Bragg. She walked to the nearest computer terminal and found the docking port of her new home USS Chimera. She noted the location and walked towards the docking ring in a casual stroll. She smiled as she realized she was now in the Special Forces. Stepping aboard the docking ramp which lead to the Chimera she strolled up the ramp and into the USS Chimera. She headed towards the nearest officer and asked for directions to sickbay. Hopping a turbolift she made her way to sickbay and stepped through the door, she headed for the CMO's office and pressed the door chime. Rangi looked up called "Come in" and waited to see who entered. She stood up as the newcomer walked confidently towards her desk." Doctor Gannsen." she said extending her hand and giving a smile of welcome. " I'm the CMO..Rangi Summers...welcome aboard...and welcome to sickbay. Please..." Rangi indicated the chair opposite her own. Jamie smiled and shook her hand. "A Pleasure Ma'am" Gannsen took the offered seat Rangi pulled forward a padd from the right side of her desk, activated it and glanced again at the content. Looking back at the blonde woman she said." So...this will be a change for you." "You could say that" Jamie smiled and looked at the CMO. "Im sure I will see plenty of action on the Chimera" Returning the smile Rangi said.." Oh...we have our moments certainly!" The smile faded away. Rangi glanced down at the padd and raising her head asked. " So....a former Fleet Medical officer. I have to ask...what brings you to an Intrepid class ship?" It was the first thing that had occurred to Rangi when she read the transfer notes. "Boredom" Jamie replied Rangis eyebrows raised. "Boredom...really." She dropped her glance to the padd in her hand and continued " But you recently saw action....forgive me...but you found that boring?" "The last major action; the Taurhai Campaign was almost 18 months ago; weve been doing clean ups and refits since then; the last six months Ive been a figure head on Earth. "I see." The padd was laid to one side." Well.. we are sent on a wide variety of missions. With a full ODA compliment aboard, there's often a need for our expertise." She gave a small smile. " There are are five of us sharing the workload including yourself. I'll introduce you later. Sickbay is well equipped...though small, we have a fine set up here." "Good Good; Ive brought my own tools I hope you dont mind" There was a pause. "Ofcourse not" Rangi said, wondering whether the new AMO might have a problem fitting in."I have to work out new rotas. An AMO who had been with us for sometime just left the ship and for a while...until you find your feet..I'd like you to work along side Dr Quiocho. Later you will ofcourse, have sole charge in sickbay as the rota kicks in." "Very Well" "Is there anything you want to ask?" Rangi enquired. "No Ma'am Rangi gave Jamie a steady thoughtful gaze that lasted perhaps two or seconds. "Alright then......" she said standing from her chair and moving around her desk. "......I'll show you sickbay. Scott is actually on duty this afternoon...you may have seen him as you came in." "Indeed I did" Jamie smiled. Rangi smiled too. "You'll like Scott I'm sure. He's very easy to get along with." She led the way to the door and waited just outside for Jamie to join her. Jamie joined her outside and got her first true look at sickbay. She was suprised at the sickbay it was smaller than she had expected but she smiled; in a few days it would feel more like home Rangi glanced around at the spick and span department. " Scott must be in the lab...lets begin there. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised ."
