240506.07 Duty Log, Major Jack Walsh - ODA Cmdr. & Lt. Sean Mctaggert - NPCDCEO
Character(s):
Date(s): 2005-06-07
"Computer, locate Major Walsh" called Sean out as he left Engineering.
"Major Walsh is on level 2, location Mess Hall" came the swift answer.
"Alright, I could have a bite myself" muttered Sean and entered the Turbolift.
/\Messhall/\
Immediately after entering the room, Sean spot a green-collared, tall
man sitting at a table on the farthest end, reading several PADDs with
serious look on his face. Before addressing the guy, who Sean
recognized as the ODA team leader, he went to the replicator and
ordered a mug of hot black coffee. After taking a sip and feeling the
hot liquid trickle down his throat, he felt his muscles relaxing and
turned around to face the Marine Officer.
"Major Walsh? Mind if I join you for a minute or two?" he said, waving
toward the empty chair.
Jack sat there reading the performance reviews and comments that the
General had to offer on the Kzenti mission reports when he saw the
mustard collared Lieutenant in front of him.
"Well, yes I do." Jack replied. "I can't seem to get five minutes to myself,
but I guess that It's important and you need to talk to me regardless so have
a seat Lieutenant and I'll let you know if you're boring me" Jack said not even
looking up at the man as he continued to read.
Sean's face darkened. Two assholes the same day was just more than he
was willing to take.
"Well, Major, you'll have to bear with it." he replied in an icy tone.
"In any case, since I don't want to waste my time, here's some specs
that your ODA should revise regarding equipment and weaponry." he left
a PADD hard on the table next to Walsh. Should you need any further
information, you know where to find me. Now, if you'll excuse me, I
got more pressing matters to attend." With that he turned around and
started to leave.
"Lieutenant, my rank gives me the privilege to talk to you however I please,
please don't assume that it goes both ways because it will be the last time
you make the mistake." Jack replied calmly. "Now, if you don't mind explaining
what exactly it was, that was so pressing for my attention, I will
listen, considering I won't know where to find you, as I have
absolutely no clue who you are."Jack finished eating and leaned back,
his blue eyes settling on McTaggert, who had stopped on his tracks.
He turned around and leaned on the table, looking Walsh straight in the eyes.
"Major" he said with a calm, tense voice. "You can be a General for
all I care, my time is to precious to waste arguing about such
nonsense." he paused and stood straight again.
"As for the issue, you have all the information there, modifications
have to be made on your gear, on which your team will be instructed by
base engineers. Should you need more detail, you can find me in my
office at Engineering. The CEO office, should you not know it, all you
have to do is ask for Lt. McTaggert. Is there anything you did not
understand and would like me to clarify, Major?" he added with a
sarcastic sidetone.
Jack stood from the seat and finished up the coffee that he was drinking,
slowly placed the cup down on the table and moved forward towards
Lieutenant McTaggert.
"Ah McTaggert." Jack grinned slyly. "I do hope that brother of yours
wakes up soon...It'd be a shame if he just....died without paying me back
the latinum he owes." Walsh spat. "As for the 'issue'" Jack started to speak
again as he began to head for the exit. "Speak to my Engineering Specialist,
he deals with all issues regarding Team Equipment, not some poorly trained
fleet engineer." Jack replied as he made his way out of the mess and back
towards the ODA Offices.
Sean was speechless as Walsh left the messhall. Nobody had the right
to mess with his brother, especially no pretentious prick like this
wannabe soldier. Livid, he started to race behind Walsh, when his
badge went off.
"Lt. McTaggert, report to Main Engineering."
Sean stopped at the door, fists clenched and breathing heavily. "This
is not over, Major Jackass." he uttered between his teeth and hit the
wall for the second time in this day. Then he tapped on his badge. "On
my way", he spat out and walked to the Turbolift.
