==/-\== USS CHIMERA ==/-\== "Computer, Lights", Cortez said loudly as he stepped into Major Walsh's lair. Immediately the smell of whiskey caught his nose and once his eyes had adjusted to the light he noticed quite a few empty bottles lying around the room. Luckily nobody was home. In his left arm he was carrying a plastic crate that he had stolen from the mess hall. He wanted to finish this crappy assignment quickly and get the hell out of Dodge before Walsh himself came back, so he immediately went to work. He began by searching the couch and chair cushions. He didn't find much, just a little trash including another empty bottle of whiskey. Heading towards the Major's desk he noticed a small cabinet. Inside were three bottles of whiskey. After placing all the alcohol into his crate he started searching through the desk drawers. In the top drawer he found an illegally modified pulse pistol, which he placed in the box. In the bottom drawer he found some holodisc movies and a few adult magazines and after thumbing through the magazines for a few minutes he placed them along with the discs in the crate. As he was bending down to pick up the crate he noticed a small, almost hidden compartment under the desk, opening it revealed a highly illegal bottle of Romulan Ale. "Sorry Major", Cortez whispered as he placed it into the crate. Cortez spent nearly an hour searching through Walsh's quarters for anything that could be considered contraband. He was surprised at how much liquor he found, there was even a half filled bottle in the shower with a small shot glass next to it. It all eventually came down to 8 bottles of alcohol (including the Romulan Ale), 3 illegal weapons (including a grenade), and an assortment of magazines and other entertainment items. The crate that Richard brought was overflowing and he had to stuff a few things in his pockets just to make everything fit. Cortez then grabbed one full bottle of whiskey out from the crate and hid it in Walsh's closet, inside one of his combat boots. "Sorry general, but I can't leave my CO dry", he whispered to himself then picked up the crate and rested it on his shoulder. He took a quick glance around the room to make sure he hadn't forgotten anything, then made his way towards the exit. ==/-\ Later /-\== Now Cortez had been ordered to confiscate the items, but since the orders came with no specific way to do that, he simply took the crate to his quarters and and hid the items there. He figured that once Walsh was off restriction, he'd just give them back. It was a simple plan and as long as Walsh didn't do anything else to piss off the general, then it shouldn't be for more than a few days anyways. Cortez knew he was taking a huge chance not fully obeying the generals orders. But what it all came down to was that Major Walsh was the person who would be standing by his side when the shit hit the fan on some alien spacecraft or some desolate planet. It was Major Walsh who would be covering his back in a fire fight. Cortez knew Walsh wasn't afraid to put his own health and career on the line for his team, therefore holding on to his personal items for a few days was the least Richard could do for his CO. ==/-\= END LOG =/-\== Lance Corporal Richard Cortez ODA Weapons Specialist USS Chimera
