/\Cargo Bay 5/\ Aidan stood in front of the replicator unit and smirked. "Seems to me, we got some contamination in the reciever tray module." he judged, trying to ignore the stench. "What do you think." he glanced over to PO Grater. Grater couldn't hold back a grin. "Tell you what, Aidan. I think you got a shitty task here." he laughed and left the room waving demonstrative his hand in front of his face and wearing a mask of disgust. "Pfffff" uttered Aidan, holding his nose. "Right you are, ladd, right you are." Aidan had started his first day at his new "temporary" post, doing some minor things for the base engineers, who needed all the assistance possible to make the deadline, when he was called by Grater to one of the storage bays. Apparently, an Ensign named Rodgers had changed the replicator in Sickbay, which had presented some problems to the Medical Crew. What problems, was quite obvious and Aidan could only laugh at the situation. After all, it was his doing that created the problems in the first place, and it seemed to be divine justice that he was to clean up the mess. Placing a mask in front of his face, he started patiently to dismantle the unit and sterilize piece by piece. /\Few hours later/\ "Allright, I'm done there" Aidan said as he entered Engineering. PO Grater was just leaving the CEOs office, and, as expected, there was a storm raging inside that room. "Goddammit" muttered Grater. "What's going on with this ship...". "Hey" Aidan approached Grater. "You got in the way of Mr. Sympathy?" he asked amused. "Aidan" Grater looked up and seemed to see the Specialist for the first time. "Right on time, grab some gear and come with me, we have to assist Quayle at the counselors room." Aidan grabbed a toolbox and strode alongside Grater to the Turbolift. "Who's Quayle?" he asked in a conversational tone as the doors closed. "Oh, yeah, the guy left before you came aboard. Used to be the CEO, but I don't know why he left or why he came back. I've heard he's not too pleased with the new CEO, but that's probably just some powermongering. In any case, I was quite a freshman when he left, so I don't really know." answered Grater. "I see" replied Aidan and paused for a moment. "So, what's going on? I haven't seen you guys this busy in quite some time. Is the problem related to the mods on the ship.?" "We'll see that. I don't really know what the fuss is all about. The other day, some of the base people and us, we where having a drink at the bar. I tell you, they don't like Garsha anymore than we agree with McTaggert. Both of them are just too thickheaded when it comes to their work, and none of them wants the other to have a saying. That's bullshit I tell you, in the end, we do all the work, the rest is just blah blah. But hey, I reckon McTaggert has his reasons, and this thing with the counselors room will probably prove him right. On the other hand, he could be more open to new things. I think these mods are pretty neat if you ask me." commented Grater. "Yeah, I know what you mean" replied Aidan. "Had to do some stuff to our gear myself, and I tell you, it's not bad at all. In any case." he closed, as the TL doors opened. "We do what they tell us, and that's fine by me. As long as they let me do my thing, I'm game." "Amen to that, brother" answered Grater with a smile, as they stepped out of the Turbolift. <<short n sweet, just to throw in something>> ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spc.
