*** A Bar somewhere on SB Bragg ***
Frankie looked at Sally with excitement as the bartender sat their drinks in front of them. Frankie took a sip of hers and said,
"Can you imgine being stuck in your quarters with no way out?"
She took a sip of her hurricane. "And I can't ever imagine wearing that kind of outfit!"
Sally nodded, blinked at the 'strength ' of her drink and setting the glass down said..
"I'm not a prude...but really...she had hardly anything on and what 'I' would like to know is..." she looked around to see who was within hearing range, leaned forward to her friend and whispered loudly "...what exactly was HE doing there! I mean...think about it...its very strange that he turns up when...well..when young women are in a state of..of....need."
She leaned back and waited for Frankies reaction.
Frankie looked at her pal quizically and then her eyes opened wider.
"You know come to think of it; you're right!"
She took another sip of her drink and added, "Its not the first time he's rescued a woman in need but its not the first time..." Frankie paused and looked around before going on. "...the counselor has been rescued by a marine."
She fell into companionable silence with Sally as they both took a sip of her drink before she said,
"I've notice the General around more often; haven't you?" Another pause and another sip. "I wonder if the counselor has a thing for marines?"
"Oh definately!" Sally replied immediately and reached for her glass. "She moved in on that ex boyfriend of Dr Summers fast enough didnt she?" She took a small gulp of the drink, closed her eyes for a second then opened them and continued..
" He was good looking wasnt he?..I mean...'really' good looking? It was a shame what happened to him." She sighed sadly.
" I dont know what she sees in the General though do you? I mean..he's alright in a Bajoran sort of way...but he's hardly something to write home about is he? He must be ..what...thirty eight?...nine?"
Frankie nodded as she set her glass down.
'Well, the counselor can't be much younger. Five years, maybe six." Frankie sighed and ran her fingers through her curly red hair that had a habit of sticking on end. "I wish I could look as good as she does in twice as much clothing."
She swallowed the last bit in her glass and motioned for another round for her and Sally. After the drinks had been delivered she wondered aloud, "What's going on between the two of them?"
" I wonder too." Sally answered. " I think they meet up. I mean...think about it. She goes jogging around the ship wearing next to nothing and all of a sudden HE decides to take up jogging too! HA!!...'that' doesnt take much working out does it? Hardly need to be SSF high command to see whats going on!"
"Yes, and now he's walking around the ship too. I wonder how he stands it when she flirts with other men in front of him?" Frankie rub at the freckles at the end of her nose before taking another drink.
"The general didn't seemed too displeased at have to carry her to sickbay either." The strength of the drinks had loosened Frankies tongue and her thoughts came spilling out almost as soon as she thought them.
Sally frowned at her glass trying to remember the muddled and fuzzy memories of a Fanct Dress party that mostly eluded her. One thing she remembered clearly was waking in Bretams quarters and hearing him say he was going to get changed into something more comfortable. She raised her eyes to Frankie thoughtfully and decided not to mention that little episode.
"Do you think she was really shut in her quarterds all that time?" she asked.
Frankie looked at Sally and shrugged, "Surely not. I mean someone would have noticed don't you think?"
Frankie looked into her glass and took a large gulp as if to brace herself for Sally's answer.
"Well you would think so!" she said in a tone that showed she and her friend weren't easily fooled.
" I know for a fact if 'I' was missing for a day, George would be pounding on my door to see if I was alright. Its a Red Herring." she finished and lifted her glass to take a long drink.
Frankie lifted her glass to Sally and then drank the rest of its contents and signalled for another round. While waiting for their drinks to arrive she asked,
"Who is the counselor's friend like George is to you?" Frankie paused in her questioning as the drinks arrived. "I mean she's kind of mysterious don't you think?"
"Spooky I'd say!" Sally replied, but considered her friends question."Well...there was that nice marine..then the XO was all over her place at one time wasn't he.... though I think that Dr Summers soon put paid to that. The counselor winks and flirts with anything that moves if you ask me...but my money would be on the General. He's a CO after all."
"But hasn't he been busy since returning from his leave?" Frankie asked as she took a sip of her drink. She looked around to see if anyone ws paying any attention but didn't see anyone.
"You tell me." Sally replied."We're meant to believe he's been working 'alone' in his room." She shrugged. "Who can say."
She sipped her third drink. "I wonder where we'll be going this time."she said dismissing the thought of Keylor in his room. "They're doing all sorts to the ship....wonder what its all for."
"Just a bunch of trouble," Frankie replied before taking another sip of her drink. Her hazel eyes seemed to sparkle green for a moment and she pointed to the door where George and Raymond stood.
Sally turned to see what Frankie looked at and smiled at the sight of George Pucker. He might not be as nice looking as the XO and would never command a ship, but then again, he didnt jog around the decks looking for scantily clad women....she hoped.
