WOw what a week. And our little crew is not little any more. THis week we offically have 20 crew emebers, that is the largest we have ever been. Thank you all for comming to play with us. And the logs. Lots of interesting interpersonal developement there. I hope that when the plot begins, everyone will still find time to fit in such logs with thier duty assignments. Lets all welcome aboard 2lt Jason Scott who has joined us as our Assistant ODA co. Also lets welcome back LtCmdr nick quayle whom has rejoined us since his sabaticle back in December. Welcome to all. So what is next. Well this wekk, or the end of it will be the offical start of the next plot. I Have written a few logs preparing us for the new adventure over the last few weeks. Also Engineering has been preparing the ship for a prototye shielding that will aid us in this adventure. If you have been following my logs we are headed to the Spinward March. You can find out infromation on the Marsh if you look at the ucip map and then clck on the Spinward Marsh. Basicly it is riddled with temporal anomilies. In the marsh we will be trying to recover a federation ship. The senior officers breifing will detail the specifics so watch for those logs. Ok so now we begin our new adventure. I will be writing several logs soon that will move the itme line forward to our departure so please watch for the ooc comments so you are aware of how much time has passed. Terek finished his shift in the Astrometrics. Before he left he was reminded by Oriana to go for the entrance check up. Despite, that he wasn't thrilled with that idea, he pointed his steps to the sickbay. There he faced his phoia of a doctors from the childhood. He gets himself into embarrassing situation when he is forced to tell CMO Summers what is wrong with him. She has given him a great amount of sympathy and with her help he managed to pass the entrance check up. Lieutenant McTaggert was working on the simulations of the requested shield modifications despite of that he didn't like it. But after a few simulations he had to admit, that it is in within parameters nevertheless he didn't find acceptable parameters good enough and all this handling with the ship led by Garsha found really irritating. Meanwhile ensign Rodgers came to duty and reported to Taggert. They are trying to find out a shield configuration that would take as little normal shield output as possible and still it would fit those enhancemenets. Rodgers found a way how to decrease some of the inertial and power strain and tried it on the mulation. Then Taggert explains him what are those modifications about and orders him to watch working groups from the Bragg next day carefully. Commander Guzman went to a holodeck to practise exercises in an effort to improve his fitness a little. None too pleased to admit he had less muscles and more fat than he would like, Shane began a martial arts discipline. He thought over the changes to Chimeras crew, with old faces returning as well as new crew coming aboard. He wondered what orders Commander Palmerhad and what SSF had planned in sending her to the ship. Sean McTaggart went to the mess hall where he found Major Walsh.Disliking an unfriendly acknowledgement, he told Jack of various modifications that were to be made to weaponry and equipment and made to leave . Jack stopped him and requested to know to whom he was speaking.Not intimidated by the Majors tone, McTaggart responded in like terms but Jack had the upper hand when he mentioned McTaggarts brother and told him to deal with the Engineering Specialist in future, leaving Sean standing speechless with anger. A call from Main Engineering stopped Sean following the Major, though he vowed to himself that it wasnt the end. Commander Guzman walked to Major Walsh's office to talk to him about disobeying direct orders on his last mission on Kzenti. Cold debate grew into a quarrel and there were a few honest opinions given to each other. Shane claimed to Jack that there was a great difference in serving in the SSF and in that what he performed on the mission. On the contrary Jack said that he had done what he considered to be the best in the given situation. Then Shane gave him a face to face monolog about ORDERS and for a moment it seemed it could have to be a fight between the two of them. Finally it ended with punishment of a week of a waste disposal duty for Major Walsh's disregarding a direct order. On Major Walshs orders, Cortez and three others of the ODA team were cleaning the floor outside Jacks office when Commander Guzman appeared and headed into the Majors office.The four men tried to eavesdrop on the conversation but could only distinguish raised voices and not the content of the 'conversation'. They barely had time to return to work before Shane exited the area. Transport of ODA assistant commander Jason Scot arrived at Bragg and Ensign Hewit came to his quaters to escort him to a docking arm of the Bragg. Scot put on his dress uniform and thought about what it will be like working with people again. After all it was quite a long time.When he was ready, he took his bag and they went of to base. When they said good bye to each other, Scot had to admit himself that he was probably only friend of Hewit on board the Plexus, but he said only Keep a good work ensign and with that he turned and walked away into starbase. Rangi had said goodbye to her father and watched him leave the starbase before returning to the quarters she shared with Shane.There she broached the subject that had been bothering her for sometime and asked Shane what, if anything, he saw for their future together.She was extremely surprised when he told her that he imagined they would be together all of their lives, that he had thought a little about the prospect of being a father and that one day he would ask her to marry him. Rick Rodgers went to the cargo loading area to oversee the transfer of the new equipment but he was stopped by a marine security officer. Neither man would back down from their orders. Lucy Fleming and Scott Fisher, sharing a meal in the mess hall noticed the CMO eating alone. Lucy made an excuse to join her and Rangi, bursting with a happy secret, told her that Shane had mentioned marriage.Lucy returned to Scott to tell the good news Keylor headed to main engineering where Sean. mistaking him forsomeone else, greeted him impolitely.They discussed the modifications to Chimera, Sean at pains to point out that he thought them a bad idea gave an in depth explanation of the problems they caused. Keylor listened patiently and replied they needed the new shields and made a few suggestions and the engineer demonstrated how they wouldnt work Keylor then moved onto the question of problems between the base engineering teams and Chimeras engineers, insisting that they must co-operate. Meanwhile Jason Scott boarded Chimera and made his way to Walshs office. Aidan Lynch found Jack in the waste disposal area.he soon learned that this was a punishment from the XO and over a glass or two of whiskey, they hatched a plot to cause grief to the commander....by 'modifying' the replicator in his quarters. Later, in sickbay, Rangi was horrified to see that something was dripping from the ceiling and called engineering. She was told they were very busy but insisted that someone come immediately. Rick Rodgers overheard the conversation between Henderson and the CMO and volunteered to go himself. Private Ra'nar was still on the starbase and had met three other ODA members, one of whom was irritating him with endless chatter.Later in a holodeck, the irritation continued! Keylor and Sean met again and the DCEO told the general of the problems on board, thinking them caused by the modifications.Learning that Shanes replicator had malfunctioned, Keylor remembered the punishment meted out to Jack by the XO. Keylor told Sean to investigate the problem and to report the result back to himself personally.Later Sean confirmed Keylors suspicions and reported that the problem had been traced to waste disposal and Jack Walsh, who, its turned out, had been drinking on duty.Keylor thought it was time he and Jack 'had a little talk'. Samantha Palmer lost patience with the endless delays of installing the prototype equipment and wasted no words in letting Marine Captain Garsha know it.She told him he had ten hours to complete modifications to the deflector array. Cortez then crept up to the side of Walsh's office and placed his ear to the wall, trying to listen in on the conversation. The rest of the team crowded up behind him, trying to do the same thing. Unfortunately the words were un-audible, but it was obvious from the tone of their voices that Major Walsh wasn't getting another promotion. "But I have my orders, which supercede any orders you may give. If you have a problem with that, then you can take it up with my superior, which happens to be Lieutenant McTaggert." Ens Rick "Hows them apples" Rodgers --- "Is there a pattern emerging here?" Sean looked with disbelief. "Sir, we are not getting anywhere here. Engineering will do what is necessary, within the given deadline and with enough spare time to have a baseball game, that I assure you. Again, we just want to make sure that this is not going to blow back into our faces. If there's any attitude problem, it's the attitude of following orders and making sure everything goes well at the same time, something I cannot say about those blind thickheads from Bragg." Keylor grimmaced, "You WILL DO MORE than is necessary. You and your team WILL be civil to the other team. IS that understood?" he pointed at Sean without touching him. "The way I see it, with everything going on, a fight is bound to break out. And that is the last thing we need right now. I have no doubt in your abilities chief, I have no doubt that you will do what is right by the ship. I have no doubt that you will be able to replicate my coffee and give me warp 9.5. But everyone needs to take it down a notch and not get is such a huff about things." "All ye'd have t'do is reroute some of the incoming waste square ta his replicators, an' 'is mornin' cocoa would be... well, ye figure it out." Aidan laughed again. Spc.
