=/\= Sickbay =/\= Athena opened her eyes slowly and Lucy greeted her with a cheerful, "Hello, how are you doing, Counselor?" Athena avoided the urge to groan at the nurse and replied, "Better ... Thanks." Her voice sounded a bit rough and her throat felt a little sore. She took the glass of water that the nurse handed her and took a few sips. Athena watched as nurse Flemming bustled off with a padd. MaiKai took the padd from Nurse Flemming and read through it. {Stuck in her room for days. Oh, please!} She raised her brows and looked at Lucy to confirm its truth. At the nurse's nod MaiKai said, "Let's get her a light meal and see how she does." Athena gave the orange Jell-O and chicken broth a weary look. She took a couple sips of the hot sweet tea and a spoonful of the broth. She tapped her Jell-O with her spoon and watched as it jiggled. She took a few more spoonfuls of the broth and a couple more sips of the tea before she decided she was finished. With her bowl still half full as well as her tea cup and her Jell-O untouched the young AMO gave her a disapproving look. {I prefer the General's idea of a meal after being stuck} Athena thought. MaiKai looked at Scot Fisher who brought out Athena's food tray. Mai stuck out her tongue, "Yeah, I never liked the doctor's food either." Athena Listened to what the doctor said and gave a shrug and replied, "I'm just not all that hungry, but I really do feel better." She paused a second as the AMO seemed to consider her answer. "I'd like to go, I'm sure I have plenty to do," Athena wheedled. Quiocho smirked to herself. "no, I think you'd be better off here. You can rest up a bit and we'll have someone look over the computer in your room." What the doctor said upset Athena a bit. It wasn't necessarily what was said but what was implied. It felt like the young AMO thought Athena needed a keeper. {Like its my fault my whole quarters malfunctioned.} "Look, I feel full. I just can't eat anymore. And I don't plan to work myself to death or anything like that," She replied firmly drawing the attention of Scott Fisher. Athena paused briefly and continued, "I planned on reading a few padds and resting." The counselor noticed the young doc didn't seemed to impressed. Mai shook her head. "how about you sleep for a while and after a decent meal. Then, We'll decide what's best for you." Mai smiled at Nurse Flemming. "So, What if I'm a little off my feed," Athena started with her exasperation clearly showing, "I'm sure that will come back with a little more rest and a bit of activity." The young doctor shut her eyes trying not to say anything {Just work with me here} she said to herself. "What seems to be the problem," Scott interjected hoping to break the tension that seemed to be building between the two women. MaiKai rolled her eyes and whispered to Scott, "Thank God you're here," she kept shaking her head. "Little 'miss' here decided she's going back to her room and I don't think that's such a good idea," then Quiocho raised her eyebrow. Scott looked at MaiKai and said, "I know you're trying to do what's best for her," he leaned his head toward Athena and continued, "but she is arguing with you and isn't that a good sign?" A rueful smile passed over Scott's lips. Giving what Scott said a little thought Mai gave him a small smile and turned toward Athena. "OK, this is the deal. Go directly to your quarters and only temp quarters if necessary and rest. No work until tomorrow and that includes reading padds. Light meals for today and then just a small amount of whatever you feel like tomorrow." Dr. Quiocho gave Athena a pointed look and added and Lots of liquids and NO alcohol." Athena gave a nod and quickly changed out of the sickbay gown she had on and put on the outfit she arrived in before any of the doctors could change their minds. She wasted no time as she departed sickbay. Scott and Mai watched her go and Scott said, "I think the gown covered more."
