<<OOC: Ok this takes place about 2 weeks after kKeylor and the chimera arrived at SB Bragg. >> ==Bridge=== Keylor sat in the command chair on the bridge, with almost a full compliment of staff manning the consoles there. It was now 24 hours past their scheduled departure time to the spin ward marsh, and it looked like it would still be two days before they the specialists of the base to allow McTaggert and the ship engineers to complete the work while they traveled the several thousand of light years to the marsh. Though the work had been progressing, despite the continued animosity between the Base engineers and various members of the ships crew. The Blame was lay upon the replicator malfunction that Major Walsh and Spc Lynch had a hand in , coupled by Lt Wellingtons quarters being offline that slowed progress by exactly 3 days, the 3 days they were going to remain on the base. Though Keylor personally felt it was the nature of the base, the untested and highly prototype devices being installed on the ship. Keylor could not wait to leave the base any way. Since arriving, there had been noting but trouble on the base. Reports of mysterious fights, where many of the instigators disappear, came from the base on a regular basis. And the last straw that broke the back of the base commander was a little 'war games' action actually involving a stun grenade and some rather persistent paint in the engineering section of the base. Needless to say the base commander was quite upset at the breach of protocol, decorum and security. And though the base commander could not 'prove' the offenders were from the chimera, he made it rather plain that none of this happened before the chimera arrived and would be glad when the chimera was gone. Keylor was in agreement, but for different reasons. Ever since his return to duty he had nothing be headaches, starting with the mission and having been coupled by a specialist he had no reason to need. And the latest development was just as equally unsettling. Just the day before he had been informed that LT Michael York had been re-assigned on TDA (temporary duty assignment) and his replacement, a Marine Captain Nicolas Harker, would be arriving today to take the Long standing Chief Helms officers place. Though the communiqu=E9 had stated that Harker had navigated many sections of the marsh and was very familiar with the mars, Keylor some how wondered if this was some 'pet' of SSF intelligence to keep tabs on Keylor and the crew. Wanting to avoid any more 'replacements' and any more potential problems, Keylor had ordered all crew back to the ship yesterday. He also restricted travel to the base, limited to only official business. After all they were behind schedule and needed to get the ship ready for a long hard travel. All crew were ordered back to their duty shift rotations and all department heads were ordered to make sure everything was in tip top shape. It was also an excuse to keep as many of the crew off the base and limit the complaints form the base commander. Looking down at a pad that LT Foster had given him, Keylor looked over his recommendations for entering the Nova class ship they were to find and recapture. Lt Foster had a three direction approach. The first was from the docking port on deck 3 starboard of the little science vessel. This would be where the first team would enter the ship and make their way to the bridge. The second tam would enter the ship from Deck 3 port. This team would head to the computer core on deck 5. They had the longest path to take seeing how the little ship only had two docking ports and both were on deck 3. The last team would try their luck with the small shuttle bay and enter in the aft section. Their task would be to take over engineering. Along with the report was a detailed description of all the halls and turns and just how many meters they would have to go to reach their objective. Though LT Foster was fairly detailed, Keylor had hoped there would have been more in his report. Having served on a Nova class vessel, Keylor had hoped Foster would have been more descriptive. But that was a long time ago, and it was possible Foster just did not remember. Keylor looked over to the operations console where Foster was sitting. He raised the paddy and spoke to Andersen. "Looks good lieutenant. Please send the specs to Major Walsh. Have he start training drills as soon as he can. Also include the type of opposition he will encounter so they can train realistically." He asked of Andersen. "Aye sir" Andersen replied. Keylor then thought about Jack. Over the last week he had had Jack meet him in holodeck 2 every evening at 19:30 hours promptly. And every evening he had Jack perform some sort of labor intensive, exhausting task that served no purpose. Every night Jack reported and took it like a Marine, obeying the order and performing the task. But Jacks cold stone faced demeanor never let Keylor know if he was getting through to Jack. Keylor could only hope that somehow, he would reach him. As for the punishment of restricted to quarters and the oda offices, Keylor had thought about lifting the restrictions and restoring all command access. He figured that until the senior officers meeting, there was little need for Jacks restrictions to be lifted, so he decided to wait till after the meeting t o give Jack his freedom back. Stiff from sitting on the bridge for so long, Keylor stood up form the chair and walked over to Andersen, "Lieutenant. Please call a briefing with all of the senior officers at 12:00 tomorrow. Have the new chef prepare a luncheon for us. Also please invite this new Helms officer that is reporting aboard today and I would like for you to come as well." Andersen nodded, "Aye sir. 12:00 tomorrow. Is there any thing in particular you would lie the Chef to make?" he asked. Keylor shook hi head, "Not really, only that he not serve any kind of shellfish, it gives me terrible indigestion." He said smiling. Andersen smiled and nodded, "Aye sir, no shell fish". Keylor then stated slowly to the turbo lift, "You have the bridge Lieutenant, I am going donw to the mess hall for a coffee and to stretch my legs." Andersen nodded once more, "Aye sir" and looked back down at his console to process the latest requests form the general. ===End Log-=== Bgen Bretam Keylor Captain
