======Holodeck 1, USS Chimera====== When Walker walked through the doors from the hall to the Holodeck, Ra’nar was already there, and he was running the weight training program. The walls around were the familiar black and yellow, but there were benches and mats spaced out around the floor. Ra’nar was laying on his back on one of the mats on the floor, wearing his grey workout bodysuit, and pushing upwards with both arms. He was straining to push two tiny metal disks, one on each palm. Ra’nar hated using weights, bulky and took up space, and could injure you if dropped on a foot or something. Considering that it was the twenty-fourth century he felt it better to use little metal disks, actually shaped like suction cups, that focused forcefields from the holodeck that would cause weighted resistance. It was much safer, and easier to change the amount of resistance. The control PADD was lying on the mat beside him. Walker didn't say anything to him at first, and Ra’nar didn't acknowledge Walkers presence even though he must have heard him enter. Walker strolled over to the side of the holodeck, to a table where more of the metal disks were arranged in pairs, picked up two, and walked over to Ra’nar ”May I join you?” Between reps Ra’nar glanced over, “Why not? The more the merrier.” He picked up the PADD, walked around him and sat on the bench nearest him. Placing the metal disk on the inside of him forearms, he activated her pair and set the PADD down. He began with trying to bring his arms together in front of him, against the resistance. ”You seem upset.” Said Walker, struggling to put his arms together. ”Me? Upset? What makes you say that?” Replied Ra’nar in a monotone voice. He was still straining against the resistance, as if he had too much weight pressing down on him. Walker said as much. ”Ya, well. It's just that on my first SSF Vessel, I have been here for two weeks and all I have done is fire paint at a couple of engineers.” Walker gave Ra’nar a stern look, “You were not the only person who has to wait, the missions will be under way soon. Just then the doors opened again and the Andorian Imaru entered the holodeck, making her way to the table. ”I know. But I don't like just sitting here. I'm a man of action.” Said Ra’nar pushing against the weights. ”Speaking of which, how's it going with Lucy?” asked Imaru, inviting herself to the conversation. She was picking up a pair of metal disks herself, and Riley was still straining, to the point of having trouble. ”Fine. Great, bloody fantastic. I have spoken to her once! And in that one time she had her boyfriend with her.” Said Ra’nar clearly picturing something in his mind. Imaru stopped and turned around sniggering. Uncharacteristically Walker came to his defence, “Leave him alone. He's upset about the lack of action.” Walker stopped his own workout and reached down for the PADD. He reduced the amount of resistance on Ra’nar’s disks by half, causing his next push up to catch him by surprise. He looked at Walker questioningly. ”Don't push yourself too hard. There are ways of distracting yourself other than getting an injury and going to sickbay.” Said Walker. Imaru laughed again, “Ya, Ra’nar. We all want a hot babe in uniform. You just have to stay ready for the next time.” Ra’nar thought it over for a moment and then looked back at her with a smile, “Is that your way of offering?” She again laughed, “Hey never say never. Walker, set me up for 75 pounds each? Walker activated the new disks and Imaru began doing forearm curls where she stood. Both Ra’nar and Walker went back to their workouts. Imaru wished she had had the nerve to tell Ra’nar how she felt about him when they had first met. But he had his eyes on someone else and she had lost her chance. ====== Eng Log ====== ODA Medical Spec.
