== /\ Chimera Briefing Room /\ ===== "Major Walsh would you care to go next?." He then looked over to Shane. "I took the liberty of sending the Major some specifications for a holo training scenario for the ODA. Hopefully they have completed configuring the holo program and will begin training soon." Gesturing to Jack, "Major how is the readiness of the ODA?" he asked distracting Shane, causing him to look down the table. As Shane glanced over to Jack with a less than enthused look, Keylor retracted his hand, deftly taking the mug in front of Shane. Jack stifled a yawn slightly catching the look that Commander Guzmanwas sending him over, it wasn't the best he'd seen but you know, what can you do? "I've got Williams and Cortez drawing up a training program for us to work on, The main problem we're having at the moment is the lack of information about the X'Chi. I don't know if that's because it's not there or because the desks at Bragg won't let us have it" Jack looked over to Palmer and then back to the General. "Either way I'd appreciate it if you'd enquire into this? I for one don't like to get into a fight without my back being covered slightly." he said dryly. The ODA was last and Jacks report followed by a few words from the General marked the end of the meeting. He stood slightly and let out another yawn, the Generals training every night was possibly beginning to show signs of working, luckily for him with the new mission up ahead the General had ended them, it wouldn't be productive for the ODA Commander to be splitting his attentions between punishment and the preparation of the troops. "Major." The General called Jack over as the other Senior Officers dispersed through the doors. "Sir." Jack turned back to him. "Major, I've reinstated all your access codes and such. You'll be needing them obviously for the upcoming mission, I do hope that I've gotten through to you on some level." Keylor nodded and made his way out of the Briefing room to the Bridge. Leaning slightly on the desk Jack grabbed some food that V'lek had prepared and took a bite. The cake was actually quite tasty, he made it a habit not to eat during the briefing, you might miss something important all for the sake of a bit of pie. Now seemed like a good enough time. After collecting himself he made his way down to the ODA Headquarters and entered to find everyone, as usual, hard at work. Sifting through the crowd he made his way into his office and saw a PADD waiting for him. It was audio from Petty Officer Williams. Instructing it to play he stifled another yawn. "Major, the holo training exercise you requested has been completed. Though the specifications for a Nova class vessel were readily available in the ships computer database, there was a lack of detail on the species you requested. Using the available data, Specialist Lynch and I extrapolated the best we could. We have tested the program and made adjustments to give us a fair approximation of what the conditions might be like in this scenario and it is ready for your approval." Looking at the chronometer he straightened his uniform, tidying up the green undercollar and admiring his new rank on his collar. Marching out into the main ODA area he let out a whistle and bellowed for attention at the top of his voice. Some of the Officers in the ODA weren't Marines, but they all had to adhere to his methods. "Everyone is at Attention!" Lieutenant Scott called out as he quickly scanned the room before assuming attention in front of the crowd. "Ok, Briefing begins at....16:52." Jack nodded. "At ease." he ordered, hearing the sound of all the air being expelled from everyone's lungs. "Ok Kids, pretty simple mission this one on paper. " he smiled bringing up the display on the Monitor of the Gott. "Six Months ago the USS Gott went missing in the Spinward March whilst conducting investigations into Temporal Viewing. Basically they were tying to go back to the past, or some rubbish." he paused. "Long story short, the ship was boarded by the X'Chi, an insectoid race who have taken command of the Gott." "So, We go In, take the ship back?" Scott spoke up. Jack nodded to his new Assistant Commander, he'd not had a chance to speak to the guy properly yet, due to having to report to the General at the time Scott reported in for duty. "Mainly, Special Forces is interested in the research. Three Teams. "General Bretam will take the Bridge, Lieutenant Scott, the Computer Core and I will take a team to secure Engineering." he tapped the controls and watched as the information on the screen split to show the three areas. "Once these areas are secure we can either blow up the ship and download the computer core or we can begin sweeps of the ship to purge any remaining X'Chi. Make no mistake people, this is a search and destroy mission. These insectoids operate with a hive mentality. Don't bother asking them for any reasoning." "Yes Sir!" "Now, Training begins immediately. Williams and Cortez have set up training on the holodeck. Two teams, Lieutenant Scott you'll take Lynch, I'll take Cortez. Ra'nar, you'll be with me also as I'll need you to deal with any casualties on the way. Williams, The General has asked for you on the Bridge Assault team, But you can train with Lieutenant Scott's team in the mean time." The group nodded in reply and Jack smiled. "Gonna get ourselves some grass hoppers lads!" Jack chuckled. "We're trained for this, We Will be ready..." he paused. "Dismissed!!" ==== Major Jack Walsh ODA Commander USS Chimera, SSF
