======== Astrometrics ========= Oriana entered astrometrics. She came here just after the briefing. It got her much things to meditation. The next mission looked interesting and difficult just as she liked. She didn't hinder, so she called all her people to astrometrics on the way. She had to inform them about the real reason for the modifications and what they would to do in next days. And there was any more reason for the briefing and that was small box which she held now in her hand. With this thought she came to their people. Terek was just getting up to some studying, because he hadn't for that much time last few weeks. He got his hands to some interesting theories about quantum singularities when he was still on the academy so he took it with himself in order to study it on his way to the Chimera. But somehow there was still something better to do than this so he found some time just now... Right in the moment when he was reading about new hypothesis about time deformations caused by the microscopic quantum singularity his comm badge sounded and he was called to the Astrometrics. So he put down padd with theories and raised himself from the couch in his quaters which he finally settled to his image. There were some abstract paintings on the walls, above his bed hang up the dreamcatcher he got from his last girlfriend on the academy for the last Christmas. Althought he didn't know what Christmas are for he celebrated it with others because it seemed that it is soimehow important for humans. Pitt! y that year later he split up with the Jessica, 'cause she wanted to build her carrier and they decidet it wouldn't work. But they still remained a good friends and they are still writing to each other. In the last message he recieved from her, she told him she is on board Coppernicus. A Nova class science vessel where she works as the chief of the geologic science team. So she managed to follow her dream throughly and Terek was happy to see that she is happy now. so with the recalled memory to Jessica he left his quaters to go to the Astrometrics probably for the briefing to the new mission... After a short while he arrived there. He saw that almost everybody is already here. So he nodded to all who was there and stood next to the some fellow Bajoran female which he didn't met yet... Oriana looked around. The last people came just. She waited untill the noise ended, then she come to a point directly: "In our next mission we will have much work. We will fly to the space area called Spinward marsh. It is area of space, where Spatial or Temporal Anomilies apear as you know. Chimera will search for science vessel USS Gott, which was captured by the X-Chi there. Our work will be to monitor Temporal anomalies in Spinward marsh and protect thus our ship." She looked again at the worried or surprised faces: "Any question?" {Hmmm... the Spinward marsh... sounds bad enough... and also sounds like a lot of work for the science teams. It also sounds quite interesting... If Gott was conducting some temporal experiments we should find some very intreresting data...} thought Terek as Oriana gave them a small briefing. When she gave space to questions.. as usually any great thought dind't illuminated him so he just looked at the oriana to what she will want to do next... Probably she will want them to check again main science equipment since this mission looks like there will be a lot of work for the team... She gave several short answers at the questions about USS Gott and their experiments, but she couldn't say much, because she didn't know much herself. Then she mentioned the person, which will be probably common visitor at the astrometrics for next days. "A new temporal crewmember joined Chimera. Lt. Cmdr. Samantha Palmer, I think, you know her name already. She is a specialist in Temporal Mechanics. She will cooperate with us and we will grant her access to the science labs, including astrometrometrics." {Samantha Palmer... a capacity in this field of study... but why is she here? Chimera's crew looks capable enough to deal with this alone... so why would Starfleet send a specialist, when they could just assign this as a standard mission} suddenly a question had poped up in Terek's mind: "Madam isn't she person who invented those shield modifications which we've installed on the Chimera? And can we get acces to exact specifications of these shields? We will need to know it's capabilities to ensure safety of the Chimera..." asked the young Bajoran with worries in his voice suggesting that he is reaally concerned about safety of the ship. When the question from her assistant came, she was not susprised. She thought the same. "Yes, she is, Terek. Till now, I didn't speak with her, but I am about to do this. I understand your worries, I have them too. But we all are the Starfleet officers and this suppose cooperiaton and trust." She ended and waited for the next question. The silence remained. So, she changed the theme. "There is anything else, why we are here." She looked directly at Terek now. "Cadet, could you?" When he moved forward a bit. "Atention, cadet." He looked suprprised, but he obeyed. She began with formal voice: "It is pleasure to tell you, that the Starfleet academy admited your last examinations and I got the task to officialy promote you to the rank of Ensign along with all the rights and duties of that rank. Congratulation, ensign." She opened the mysterious small box, which she had and took out single pip and clipped on it at his collar. All people began to applaud. {Really strange tradition,} thought Oriana. Oriana's answer was stright and as expected. So Terek just nodded after she responded. But then he was caught surprised. Oriana told him to come forward then to pay attention, so he has done as commanded and straightened himself like a ruler, expecting the worst. But not only that he wasn't reproached for something, when he heard words about last of his exams he sent to the academy last week he couldn't believe his senses... They really did it... He made it through the academy. It was the greatest new of the recent weeks. Suddenly a wave of joy flooded him and he started to smile like a baby to his birthday cake. "Thank you madam. It is really honor to be here and recieve this pin from you . I won't let you down." and then she attached pin to his collar and so it was... he is now an ensign... unbelievable.... Oriana waited for a while at silence again, then she said: "Will you make a celebration? As I heard, it is tradition." He was surprised by the question. "Well yes, of course. I'll go to have something special in the bar and probably to take some paragliding but more extreme." he answered to Oriana and then a little louder so others could hear it. "anybody would care to join me in the bar the? I'll pay... " offered with smile and then again said only to Oriana: "And madam my offer to teach you hoe to paraglide is still here, so anywhen you would like to join me, just say a word..." said with a broad smile when he saw Oriana's expression... {Thats impossible} thought Oriana perplexed. I promise, I will join to you in the social life. As soon as I will have time. {Thats impossible too.} she thought amused. {But maybe } Allright people, back to the work. The celebration is not now.
