"Computer,= begin recording." Waiting a moment before speaking, he considered what had= happened over the last week and took another gulp of the warm liquid. It had been an 'eventful' week, but then considering the past year, his lif= e had been a series of events - wanted or otherwise. First his father had fallen ill, and Jason had sat with him through a vicious recovery involving moments of bleakness even a hardened Marine like= Jason could falter at. Then he'd been in an accident, and nearly lost his= life. That part of the year had been a minor miracle really, and although= many would complain and mourn the loss of their sight, he didn't. Jason thought is amazing that all he'd lost in the accident, was the use of certain aspects of his eyes. And then a recovry o his own had ensued, and a battle with the SSF to be allowed to sereve once more. He'd won that battle, and now he was here...= serving Starfleet again; sight complete or not. The journey from Earth had also been eventful, stuck in a tin crate of a ship with only one decently sociable person to talk to... and then the starbase, and Chimera. It never ended, the time was a constant line of blur= s in his memory. Chimera seemed welcoming enough. Allthough his immediate superior looked twelve, or was at least ten years his junior, it didn't effect him. Jason= was the 'do it, 'cause it needs doing' kind, a no matter the man's age, he'= d serve him rightfully and truthfully. Jason was a mentor figure to many; the older, wiser, quiet kind of man...= although really, he had nothing to teach and everything to learn. "Computer, end recording." Perhaps he'd collect some more memories, before= he messaged home. 2nd Lieutenant Jason Scott Assistant ODA Commander USS Chimera -- If you build it... ------=_Part_22251_3584615.1120708619476 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Content-Disposition: inline [Stepping Stones]

Taking a sip from the mug of white coffee in his hand, Jason sat before the LCARS display in his quarters and placed the cup on a coaster.
