Moving down the dull grey corridor, Jason lifted his hand and played with the clips on his flak jacket. Tightening up the front four, it became obvious how much weight he'd lost since leaving SSF as he had to constantly re-adjust the buckling as he put -that- weight back on. Approaching the holodeck doors, Jason looked up from the clips and stopped, nodding to the man waiting. Gary was looking over a pad of the training schedule. After hearing Jack crudely rattle off assignments and who trains together, he had slapped together a training schedule as fast has he could. Though it appeared to be seamingly easy, it was far from it. Gary had to make out a schedule of who was on what holodeck and for how long,. Then there was notifying operations of the need of the exclusive used of the holodecks and getting the proper approval. Also Operations had to clear the continual used of the holodecks and their power drain past Engineering, whom; Gary thought, would have a problem with the high use because of the recent problems with the eps conduits on the ship. But that was a day or so ago and now they were running people through the simulation like clockwork. Next up was the new ODA officer, Lieutenant Scott. Gary knew nothing of the new officer only that he came on board while they were docked with Bragg. Hearing footsteps he looked up from his padd and saw a marine Lieutenant walking up to him. "Lieutenant Scott I presume?" he asked. Jason held out his gloved hand. "That's the one." He responded flatly. "So," He continued, shaking the man's hand. "Ready for training?" Not pausing to listen for the man's response, Scott turned towards the holodeck doors and stepped forward; allowing them to part before him. Inside, the X'Chi program was already running, the hall dark with flashes of broken bulkhead lighting. Gary shook the officers hand, "Well I guess so. Though I have already giving the program a run through. . Right now I am just observing the action and looking for anything I might need to change to increase the training's effectiveness." He said looking as the lieutenant stepped forward and looked in to the holodeck. Looking back at his padd he looked over the list of team members. "Ok so Lynch, Arnez, Chin, B'tan , Harrison Grimes, and Ra'nar will be with you in this simulation. Unfortunately the small size of the holodeck limits the number of people we can put in one room. The rest of your Oda team will be in holodeck 2. But don't worry, we can link up the two simulations so it will appear as if you are all in the same space." Gary then pointed in to the holo program. "This is the starboard side docking port. One of the three entry points to the ship. You objective here is to reach the computer core as quickly s possible with as few casualties as possible. I have modified the program to transport any one struck with three critical blows to transporter room 1. " Gary looked down the hall and saw several of the oda team members head down the hall loaded down with all of their gear. Nodding again, Jason began towards those already inside the simulation. Stopping short as they gathered, he looked over their faces and recollected a few of them from Walsh's briefing. "Okay," He began, speaking in a medium tone, "I wan't Lynch , Chin and B'tan taking the rear. Ra'nar, you take centre with Grimes, and Cortez and me take point. I don't want any trigger happy shit, and nobody thinking this is a stroll in the park. Got it?" To that, a few of them exchanged looks then nodded. He didn't blame them, he was new to the ship... to the ODA and now ordering them around like he knew what was what. Considering his previous failure on the deck training program, Jason was even more unsure of his abilities in the field, but that didn't weaken his outward composure. He was still a Marine, and they were still his men... he hoped that was enough to keep them on his side. "Good." He stated, dropping into silence. Without another word, he nodded and snapped his hand forward, signaling them to move. Gary followed the trainees in to the holo deck. Remaining silent, he now switched in to observer mode. As the doors slid close behind him he tapped on the padd to start the holoprogram in to full swing. Down the dank flickering halls, the sound of clicking could be heard in the distance. Gary looked over to Aidan and grinned. He did not need to say anything, theh both had run through the program once and knew more than the rest about the program. Remaining silent, he watched and Scott motioned to move out and the team started through the maze of halls. ===end log=== 2LT Jason Scott Asst ODA CO & PO1 Gary Willaims NPC ODA OPS Spec.
