===Near the spinward marsh=== --Captains log--- It has been 5 days since leaving starbase Bragg. We have exacted a heavy toll on our warp driv3e having speed here at our best possible warp speed. I have to begin to wonder what could be so important that SSF command has allowed us to travel so far at such a great speed, a speed usually only reserved for dire emergencies. All is not as it seems. I also received information about the prototype equipment installed on the Chimera at SB Bragg. I know I am no engineer, but I found the information less than enlightening. If I were a betting man, I would say that the information given to use was just enough to satisfy our curiosity and give use enough information to go searching for the reason the systems seem to be mis-reporting systems efficiency. I had sent the information down to Lt Mctaggert who, for the last 2 days along with the engineering staff have been tying to isolate the reason for the reading. Reports have been like a roller coaster ride, something appearing to start to pan out as to the cause of the problem, and then suddenly vanishing. This happened several times and as of yet, the cause yet to be determined. Thankfully the ship has held together, despite the constant insistence of the Chief engineer to stop the ship and give everything a thou rough once over. But with the insistence of command to reach our target, that has not bee possible, at least not until now. We are nearing the outer boundary of the marsh, or at least the safe boundary, far enough away form anomalies, but close enough to perform long range scans. Once we drop out of warp I plan to give in to the Chief engineer and allow high level diagnostics of the warp drive while we scan the marsh for our target. -- End Captains Log-- Keylor was sitting in his ready room making his latest entry in to the ships log. He was starting to become convinced that command knew more than they lead on to believe. But now, some 100 plus lightuyears away form Bragg, there was not time to question. There was only time to seek and catch their pray. As he closed the captain's log he stood up form the desk. Keylor walked though the doors to the bridge and walked to the center of it. There he found Commander Guzman dutifully sitting in the 'chair' . As Keylor walked up Shane stood up . "Sir. I was about to call you, we are ready to drop out of warp." He remarked. Keylor nodded, "Very well, proceed." He said calmly. Shane looked forward to Harker, a slight look of doubt in his face. "Helm, drop out of warp and bring us as close to the marsh as you can with out entering the area." He commanded. "Aye sir, dropping out of warp. " Harker replied calm and cool. Keylor looked forward and watched the view screen. There were not many stars visible, now the cloudy mass of the Marsh filling up most of their view. What few stars that were visible finally stopped their long streak and returned to the more familiar pinpoints of light most were familiar with. "Now at full impulse sir. Setting course for 47 mark 23. there is a recess in the boundary approximately 1 million kilometers . Should give a perfect vantage point for scanning the marsh." Harker commented. Keylor thought it odd that Harker seemed to have everything prepared so quickly, and with the next step in mind. He still wondered why , in particular this man had been chosen to fly the chimer in to harms way. And though Harker was correct, they needed to scan for their target, it still bothered Keylor that Harker was one step ahead of him. Shane looked at Keylor and Keylor nodded. "Proceed Marine Captain Harker. Bring us in close, but not too close." Shane ordered. "Very well commander. Have the science section start their scans of the marsh. I want to know where that ship is and the safest path to get there." Keylor stated to Shane. Shane nodded, "Shall I inform Lt McTaggert that he can perform his diagnostics?" he asked. Keylor nodded, "Yes. I promised him he could investigate the errant readings once we dropped out of warp. Tell them to find and resolve the problem at once. I don't kow how long it will take to find the Gott, but once we do, we will need to get moving. I want to get this mission over with as quickly as possible. But make it clear that impulse power, and sensors must remain online so we can find our target." He responded. Shane nodded, "Aye sir." Keylor than looked over to LT Foster. "Lieutenant, Make sure Lieutenant Oriana and her department have the resources they need." Andersen responded back , "Aye sir." "Also start preparations on the shuttles we will use for the assault. Make sure they are ready to go at a moments notice." Keylor added. Andersen nodded and looked back to his console. Keylor looked back to Shane. "You have the bridge commander. Let me know when we find the Gott." He stated. Shane nodded, "Aye sir." He replied. With little more than a nod, Keylor turned and headed to the turbo lift. Since they had left Bragg he had not had a chance to check out the holo program Williams and Lynch had created to prepare for the assult, though he had no intentions of joining the assault, he still wanted to see how they were preparing. He stepped on to the lift. "Deck 6." He commanded the computer. For the next minute he stood in silence. As the lift stopped and the doors opened, Keylor stepped out. <<ooc: the next part is not a mistake. I have copied it on purpose and there are slight changes>> Keylor walked though the doors to the bridge and walked to the center of it. "Precede Marine Captain Harker. Bring us in close, but not too close." Shane ordered. "Very well commander. Have the science section start their scans of the marsh. As he stopped in front of the lift doors he turned back and looked towards Shane. "Is there a problem sir?" Shane asked. Keylor could not put his finger on it, but for some reason this all seemed familiar. {May be I just experienced what the humans call Deja Vue?} he thought. Looking about the bridge, he shrugged off the feeling, "No commander. Carry on." He said a bit perplexed. As the turbo lift doors opened he stepped on and commanded. "Deck 6For the next minute he stood in silence. {What is it, Deja Vue?} he thought. {A sensation of feeling like you had experienced an event before? But Most scientists believed this phenomenon is actually your brain processing the event a little slower than usual and actually a mirage of sorts.} he thought.. As the lift stopped and the doors opened, Keylor stepped out and looked around. Seeing he was on deck 6, he shrugged off the strange feeling. {May be I have been working to hard, worrying to much. Perhaps I am more tired than I believed. I will make sure I will get a full nights sleep tonight just in case.} he thought as he headed to the holodeck to check out the program. <<ooc:: Yes you guessed it. We had a several minutes jumped backwards. Most ppl would not even notice it since few species (like Guinan and Q) are some of the few able to detect it. Keylor is barley able to have a feeling only because of his exposure to a bajoran Orb of the prophets, and even then he still thinks he is tired and over worked. If you have questions about what you can detect, please email me and I will discuss it with you.>> ==End log== Bgen Bretam Keylor Captain
