Hello valiant crew! This week we've started the second hunderd of simming weeks. May everyone enjoy writting and simming the next 100 weeks like we enjoyed the first 100 ones. Thank you all again for your dedication and enthusiasm! Again an active and eventfull week is behind us. The plot moved again a bit forward with finding the USS Gott and there is a lot of what to log for everyone. I must say that I am impressed with the effort our might ODA members have shown this week. All members of that department logged this week and some managed to write 2 or 3 logs. A way to go! Special thanks go to Rangi and Bren for hitting 5 respectively 4 logs this week. Sci: scan the Gott, scan the unstable anomaly Eng: continue to track down the anomalies in the readings, strenghten the temporal shields ODA: leave for the away mission Med: Prepare for casualities =========================================================================== Summary (by Queen Rangi) XO Shane Guzman was becoming annoyed at the length of time it was taking to find the USS Gott.He ordered cargo bay 3 to be made over into an emergency sickbay in anticipation of many casualties and wondered again if Samantha Palmer knew more than she revealed about the mission.He requested the counselor go to the Bridge.CMO Summers and AMO Fisher had overseen the preparations in the cargo bay.Both agreed that it wasnt an ideal situation and wished for a larger permanent sickbay. DCEO Sean McTaggert was still sure that despite the 100% efficiency throughout the ship, there was something wrong.Released from his enforced stay in sickbay, Sean called Ens Rodgers to his office, praised his work and promoted him to Ltjg. giving him charge of Betw team. Shortly afterwards a call from the Bridge informed McTaggert that he was free to run the diagnostic scan he wanted but that impulse power and sensors have to remain online. Though Sean argued his case, Shane was adamant and Sean had no choice but to agree, setting his teams to work. ODA Commander Major Walsh remembered what it was he'd forgotten to do and summoned Lynch. They discussed the merits ..or lack of..of the flamethrower and a new 'invention' Lynch was working on and then Walsh surprised him with a promotion to Petty Officer 3rd Class. The Assistant ODA Commander was in sickbay, attending a routine medical checkup. Rangi told him she wanted to carry out her own examination of his sight condition and he agreed. She reminded him that attending revue appointments with his specialist was important but he was dismissive of the idea.As Rangi watched him leave sickbay she by how much he reminded her of Rob Richards. Commander Samantha Palmer worked alone in Astrometrics. She studied the sensor signals from the anomalies and discovered a way to allow them to scan the marsh more efficiently. Leaving her suggestions for Oriana, Samantha returned to her quarters.She soon noticed a strange thing happening.An ElAurian clock, kept soely for ornamental appeal, was ticking wildly.She remembered her brother telling her that the clock would only tick when in near an interference in the time line.She made her way to sickbay after arranging to meet Rangi there.She gave rangi a warning as to what to expect from crew affected by temporal pychosis. They discussed those most likely to suffer effects and long term results.Rangi still felt that Samantha was hiding something but gained no clue. Lt Wellington was in her office working on a report but her mind wandered to the suspicions she had about Samantha and Harker.Feeling restless, she headed for the mess hall.Athena couldnt rid herself of a headache and experienced a sense of deja vue. She knew that Samantha was avoiding her but couldnt tell why. 24 hours had passed since Chimera had arrived at the edge of the Spinward March. The General and Shane agreed that they would search for the Gott from her last known position and preparations were ordered. Engineering was informed that their diagnostics were to be suspended and green Alert was raised.The temporal shielding was activated and the crew was informed of events via shipwide Comm.They soon encountered a rift and in one 'time' were destroyed by it..in another they evaded it. Lt Rodgers was concerned at the 100% efficiency of the ships systems and his 'bad feeling' grew. Pvt Ra'nar went to sickbay to make an apology for his previous behaviour there which Rangi accepted. They discussed possible casualties from the coming mission and Rangi asked if he carried a euthanasia drug on missions and his opinion on using it. Ra'nar replied he would be prepared to do so and told her how he had ended his own fathers life. Over a hurried lunch in the Messhall, Terek and Rangi discussed X'Chi/ grasshopper anatomy before deciding to go to Astrometrics to search the database for previous scans.On the way there, they felt the effects of Chimeras contact with the anomaly.Terek was able to modify the sensors to detect emerging anomalies one and a half seconds more quickly.Rangi meanwhile had found scans of the X'chi that only added to their mystery. Jason Scott summoned Pvt Ra'nar to his quarters where he questioned him on the fight. Ra'nar admitted his part in it and was given the job of cleaning the Mess hall for a week as punishment. Oriana returned to Astrometrics and continued Ens Tereks work on finding the USS Gott.She made some slight progress and sent new coordinates to the Bridge, giving a 89.753% probability of success. Jason Scott tripped and fell in his quarters and relived the accident that had cost him his sight. In engineering McTaggert was more than displeased when he was ordered to break off the diagnostics, particularly as Rodgers reported finding something 'weird' in the Basic Command Modules.When the XO announcment told of enetering the marsh, McTaggert 'snapped' and he told the Bridge crew exactly what he thought in no uncertain terms....luckily for him it was in a time rift. Cortez went to see Lynch who was modifying the flamethrower and explained the new improvements.They decided Cortez would have the 'honour' of testing it in the holodeck which he did, successfully. Samantha returned to the Bridge as requested by the General.He asked her to monitor the sensors. She told him that a narrow passage between several large temporal disturbances was the only option. Yellow Alert was sounded and Chimera proceeded safely at first but soon encountering a powerful temporal burst and massive shockwave.As the danger passed, the computer activated a proximity alert. The USS Gott was right in front of them. The General asked for reports but sensor reports were unreliable to due the large anomalies nearby.Thinking sooner was better than later, he ordered preparations for the away teams. =========================================================================== Quotable Quotes "How time passes" Sean was in a bad mood. He had been forced to spend 24 hours unconscious in Sickbay, watched by the vigilant eyes of the entire Medical crew. Sean didn't know what hurt him most, the fact that Summers could take him out that easily, or that he had lost an entire day, when time seemed to be such a precious good at that moment. LT. Back at ODA Headquarters now he was in his office doing the usual crap that he usually did, nothing basically.
