<< OOC: This happens prior the second shaking of the ship.... >> ===== Corridors on deck five ===== After his shif in the Astrometrics, Terek met Alex in the mess hall, they had a delicious dinner together and then they went for an hour to the holodeck. Alex is very enthusiastic about extreme skiing, so she finaly persuaded Terek to join her. " I really don't know, why I let myself to manipulate into this." Said Terek smiling at the Alex, who was walking next to him and rubbed his shoulder. Both of them were wearing winter overalls. Alex was beaming with satisfaction and Terek felt it was contaigous. Despite that he felt that tomorrow, he won't be able to get up from the bed, because amount of fells from that thing humans call snowboard was countless. He still was thinking how she could persuade him for that suicidal last ride from the snow cliff, when he stood on that board only about five times. Luckily the safety protocols were online, otherwise he would look as litle colored cube. "Because you are my friend and because you are fond of me...." She replied laughing a little and Terek had to admit she's right. That was certainly that reason. There could be no other explanation to this foolishness. "Hey, don't be so selfconfident....." Said to her with smile, rubbing his shoulder once more. {Damn... it is probably displaced. I'd better go to the shor visit to the sickbay} he thoughtas they arrived Alex's quaters. When she opened the door, she turned to him to say good bye, so he hugged her and kissed her saying: "You are true, I'm very fond of you. So don't you want to stop in my quaters before you go to sleep?" He asked with a grin. "Mr. Weranis what do you think of yourself." She said smiling "I'm a respectable girl and it is unappropropriate to go to someones quaters after only a second official date. Besides, I'm quite tired and tomorrow I have lot of work to do, so I need to be awake." All right, I've just asked. So have a good night, see you in the morning. If I don't wake up, please shake with me. I have this little feeling that I'll be dead at night." Said Terek returning her smile thiniking that that waking would really be necessary... Luckily they gave access to each others quaters long time ago, so Alex saved his neck before the oversleeping quite few times. "Don't vorry, I'll wake you, so you'll never forget it." She said, kissing him once more and turning on heels and disappeared behind the door. Terek went to his own quaters, thinking of a sonic shower and possibly visit of the sickbay, because that shoulder was beginning to ache more and more. ===== Terek's quaters ===== "Computer, lights" Ordered and with a quiet beep the light turned on. He walked over to his couch, putting of the overall and then he went to the bathroom to take that shower. It was wonderful sense, feeling high frequency sound massage every part of your body, washing away the dirt of the day. After a few minutes he stepped out of the shower with towel around his body, took his unformal clothes from the dresser and put them on. He liked a free clothes, so this was exactly according his taste. Light pants in the coulour of the dark sand with wide ends. Wide brown shirt and over it a orange vest. He looked exactly as any other bajoran you could meet anywhere. In this state he strode of his quaters and made his way to the sickbay. ===== Sickbay ===== After a few minutes He entered the sickbay. He looked around searching for the doctor Summers. Afetr few second he, saw her, sitting at the desk, so he strode to her. "Good evening doctor. I have a little problem." Said with a nervous smile and rubbing his shoulder again. "Ensign Terek " Rangi returned the smile as she got to her feet, noticing the way he massaged his shoulder. "What's happened?" she asked stepping towards him. "You've had an accident?" "Well actualy, I've rolled down from the one slope hill in the holodeck. It was a skiing program and unfortunately I'm not too skilled in winter sports..." Responded Terek thinkingof how strange it sounded... Why he should be going to the holodeck to some sport he don't like too much. "And as I rolled I probably displaced my right shoulder. I thought that a high pitched sonic shower and few moments of the rest would do the mirracle, but it doens't seem to and tomorrow I have to be on duty." "I see. " Rangi said coming to his side and with a sympathetic expression said.. "I'm not much good in the snow either!" and smiled."Let's see what you've done. " she added. " Please take a seat there." Terek sat down to one of hte biobeds the doctor pointed. "I'd rather to take some paragliding, but Alex insisted that I have to try this one. I must persuade her as well to tahe one or two flights with me..." He said, waitng for the verdict of the doctor. "Alex?" Rangi queried, reaching for the tricorder. " Forgive me...Alex.....? " "Oh sorry..." hesitated Terek thinking that he actualy spoke aloud..."Ensign Alex Quinn. She's also in the science department." "Ahh...right...sorry..I couldnt place the name." Another smile and the tricoder was activated. "So you're both skiers are you?...can you raise your arm?..no no..thats fine." she said seeing the discomfort clearly on the ensigns face. "Hmm, she's a skier. I'm amateur and moreover I hate the winter, but what one wouldn't do for someone important for him, right? Auch!" said Terek quietly when he was aske to raise his arm and a expression of pain run over his face. "Very true.." Rangi replied, thinking of a certain Commander and the endless cups of 'evil' green tea she made because he so enjoyed them. The scan was completed. "You havent displaced the shoulder. " she said, setting the tricorder aside. " Its just a very bad sprain. I can deal with that for you...just a moment." She moved a few steps to a supply station and selected the equipment she wanted. " This will cure it. " she said, returning to him. Terek smiled to the doctor's note and watched her to go for something to the supply station. "What is it?" Asked curiously. "Its the new type of anabolic protoplaser." she said as though announcing a wonderful invention. "It works more or less in the same way as the old one...but is faster" She looked pleased and proceeded to programme the instrument. "You'll feel a tingling sensation but nothing more." she said "ok?" Terek nodded in response and as doctor applied treatment, he began to feel his arm tingling a little and his shoulder to dislodge finaly. "Doctor that is great, you are a magician" said Terek trying to stretch his arm. "It feels great. So am I able to work again?" asked standing up from the biobed. "Ofcourse" Rangi said . "...though I dont know about the magician. " she met his eye, her lips forming a wide smile. " You shouldnt have any further problems....unless you trying skiing again" "Oh, I think I'll skip this time or perhaps I'll just take only a few rides on the sledge." Said returnig the smile. "Thanks for your help doctor." "Any time " Rangi replied and moved aside as the ensign stood up. Terek gave a little bow to the doctor: "All right then, I'll go to take some rest before another shift, good night." said and then he walked from the sickbay back to his quaters. "Goodnight." Rangi watched him begin to walk away, then turned to tidy the used equipment. {A magician!} she thought. ===== Terek's quaters again ===== As Terek reentered his quaters, he made his way to the repilcator. "Tarkelian tea, hot" He ordered and watched the cup materialising in the stream of a blue light on the repicator grid. He took the cup and walked to his favourite armchair, putting the tea on the table. He settled down comfortably, from the table he took the copy of the detective novel called The Brimstone, written by some 21st century's couple of authors. It was really fascinating. How could people even live in those days with such primitive technical equipment, he thought. But then he made a mistake. He was reading while he tried to reach his cup on the table, but he missed it and when he tried to reach it again, he knocked it down. And then he dropped the book as well, because what he saw wasn't some common thing to see. Normaly the cup would fell down, eventualy broke down and the tea would be spilled. But not this time. Terek watched as the cup, froye in the air about twenty five centimeters above the floor with tea floating around it. {For all the Prophets... this must be another efect of the marsh...} he thought for a second and next one, he was on his feet again running to the sickbay, which was the nearest place with the tricorders. He run into the sickbay, saaing in a hurry to the shocked doctor. "I'm sorry doctor, but I need the tricorder, I'll return it in a few minutes..." and with this he grabbed one of the tricorders from the supply table and run away again his words almost distorted by the Doppler's effect. He rushed into his room again seeing the cup still hoovering above the floor, he opened the tricorder and began with scan. {Amazing...} he thought as tricorder detected a tiny buble of distorted time only about thirty centimeters in the diameter right next to the table, moving down to the next deck slowly and also dwindling. He recorded as much data as he could, but after about one or two minutes, the buble disappeared and cup returned into the normal time and with a unnaturaly loud crack it finnished its journey to the ground, breaking apart and making the tea spreading everywhere. He put away the tricorder and before he transfered data into his personal computer, he cleaned up the mess in the room. After a while when he was observing the results of the scans, he was fascinated as for in that buble, the time wasnt frozen. It was theoreticly impossible, but it was slowed down, really enough. In fact according to the calculations, one nanosecond in that buble was almost three minutes in the normal time. {Wow, that is remarkable.... } he thought performing some more simulations. He was also disturbed with thought that something like this could appear in bigger size, but furtunately his fears were scared off by the results of the simulations. It seemed that those types of anomalies, are very unstable. When they emerge, they last only for a few minutes of a normal time and probably can't be a much bigger than this one. So he better made a report for the Lieutenant Oriana, as for she might want to know about that and went to return the borrowed tricorder to the sickbay. ===== End Log ===== Ensign Terek Weranis ASCiO USS Chimera & LtCmdr Rangi Summers CMO/2XO USS Chimera & NPC Ensign Alex Quinn SCiO USS Chimera <<I hope that little anomaly wouldn't interfere with the plot somehow.>>
